hi all I'm staying near kings cross (obviously not from the area!) wondering if anyone cat give me any tips for what I can get up to round here! thanks

Unfortunately the Scotsman has shut down.

You could try Rios which is in Kentish Town. Not too far from Kings X.

The Scottish stores to give it its proper name is still there and open. Looks a lot better now it's been smartened up and thre strippers are long gone lots of real ales etc. It's at the end of Caledonian Road almost on the junction
