That’s fair enough if you can travel towards Heathrow which has Kestrels spa during the day and some evenings changes to Abfabs a sort of club feel.It has a amazing swimming pool and cinema as well as other things but for a single guy it’s double the price of Rios but for a couple I don’t think there is much difference.They are not on Fabs but if you are interested google them and you will get more information.

Rios is awful. Have met some lovely people there over the years but it was going down hill long before Covid struck and is no better now..

Love the term "wanking dead". Any female comes the guys show no respect and follow her around..

Not going back at all...

I've been to Rio's pre Covid & there were some people in costumes especially on the Saturday night I attended, with regards to the wanking dead, unless you go on a couples night you'll find some st any club infact I've even witnessed it on a couples night when husbands and wife's have spilt up for part of the evening

Someone's favourite place will be another's worst nightmare, I always think go yourself a couple of times & make your own judgements

I think this is excellent advice. I used to go to Rio's a lot pre-pandemic and must say had very mixed experiences. Some really good evenings, others made me wish I hadn't bothered (and they do not correlate with whether I got to play etc. or not).

There is nowhere I've been to in the Midlands or South East where I've had such a range of experiences / observations. Consistently hearing that the naturist aspect is reduced from what it was, which was far from absolute anyway, coupled with no indication anything has improved regarding the behaviour of certain individuals leaves me with little motivation to go back even though it is easily the nearest place to me.

Having said all that, if you haven't been, I'd suggest trying it as everyone is different. Some people love the place as evidenced in this thread.

Despite my very mixed views on the place, I would absolutely not want to see it close. However, adding a membership requirement might help with some of the behaviour and make it a bit more attractive to many.

Have been a few times, used the massage rooms a few times too. Fridays for singles are the best days and Saturdays are best for couples. Had good nights there with woman and more then one. A lot of men there can be uncomfortable for woman and men as they like to stare at your body.

It closes early as well, have to be out by 12 but they start telling you to go and switching sauna and steam rooms off by 23h30 - makes it a short night!!

Yeah. Still there are other places that are similar. Like them, it might be part of their licence that everyone has to be out of the venue by midnight. Hope you're both well by the way. Been ages (years!) since I saw you last.

. I saw it on another thread about Rios and that it had gone up to £40 which I thought was a bit outrageous as I know Kestrel is £40 for a single guy and although not a spa OP4F is £30 on a Tuesday and £50 on a Friday

. From a personal perspective via public transport I can get to Rios in under one hour but Kestrels over 2 hours.Yes the facilities at Kestrels are superior but again from a personal perspective I can finish work and go to Rios and stay say until 11.00 pm but no chance with Kestrels.

I agree with your suggestions. They seem to have a loyal local clientele and are generally happy as there is no direct competition so they have it good. There was a recent price increase and reduced hours, seems like that hasn’t hurt their business .

It’s a shame they could make improvements with little extra cost or effort .

That may have happened (and did), but was not actually allowed and certainly not official policy. I think guys used to hide in the back rooms or pretend to be with a woman to stay on. I do remember one or two boasting about it when I used to go to couples night.

The Rios website has been crap for several years and I don't think anyone had bothered to update it regularly for ages. When they had a fire back in around 2016, I think, no updating they were closed temporarily or when they would open etc.. same during the pandemic. No effort at all.

I agree with a lot of your points especially keeping the website up to date , nominal membership , and remodelling the bar area.I admit I haven’t attended since coming out of lockdown as I haven’t made the time.I agree that the business model may need looking.I don’t want to hear of couples and ladies feeling uncomfortable and not returning.As a polite and respectful guy I want to see ladies and couples there as it makes for a more enjoyable experience for everyone.Just because they are located 5 minutes from a underground station which makes it very convenient for most people does not mean that ladies and couples will continue to attend if they are made to feel uncomfortable.What I fear will happen if the owners don’t take into account the ladies and couples experiences and try to make their experiences better is that it will instead becoming more of a gay , bi sexual sort of sauna for men which as a straight guy that is the last thing I want.

Actually, one thing - I'd make it naturist at all times. Having a timed period of naturist just gives the staff a difficult job if going around telling people they have to remove whatever clothing they are wearing, with varying degrees of compliance I would imagine.

Hey, have you been recently to rios? I havnt been for years and hoping to revisit this Saturday day time (11thjune) mid afternoon as a single male. Just wondered if it still gets busy weekends as I will be travelling an hour to visit. I used to love it.

Aahh OK thanks for the info. It's my only chance of getting down again and only on the Saturday so might take my chance. I like to be naked there but read a lot that most wear swim suits and even the bar staff covered now which in my opinion ruins the experience. Is it true there are no massage services now too? Thanks in advance.

You’ll find a mixed group of those that are completely nude and some ladies in swimwear.

I find couples don’t often play with single guys. But that depends on the day / night you’re there.

Staff are in beach wear or sarong and bikini.

No idea about the massage services.

Be aware you’ll be asked to leave when it’s couples only, from 6pm I think.

Make sure you’re chatty and talking to people. You’ll have a better time

Thanks again. I have been a few times before single and had an amazing time with ladies there (I'm a non pushy guy don't get the wrong idea) the lady approached me and we had fun. I love to be naked especially around people so as long as its still OK to be naked there Saturday in the day I'll enjoy that and take whatever comes along with it.

Hi guys, what time does it close at on a Wednesday these days? Was thinking of going next Wednesday (22nd of June) but haven’t been since covid and Google says it closes at 2200. Let me know if you have any updates and if you are planning on heading along.
