Many do! I get lots of offers to attend socials/clubs as a couple. Personally I prefer to go alone as it keeps my options open... though it sometimes sucks as I am not a natural “approacher” and can sometimes stand as a Billy No Mates in a corner looking at my phone . I’d only go as a couple with a well-established FWB.

I always wear a party style dress. Maybe this time bit more casual as I got something really nice, but not necessary one in a style for night club. More like a date sort of a dress if it makes sense?! But anything goes. Jeans and smart top. Whatever you are comfortable in! Some people come straight after work on a Friday so you can imagine a range of outfits.

I'm most likely staying overnight too somewhere nearby so might pack a more party style dress just in case.
