South London under 40’s social

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

We are thinking about possibly hosting and under 40’s social.

We did try this before but got hounded and abused by people over 40 saying it wasn’t fair to put an age limit on.

This time we don’t care what people think.

Most socials are aimed at an older crowd and can put a lot of younger Fabbers off.

All under 40’s welcome.

Feel free to suggest areas but keep it to south London.

Greenwich- trafalgar tavern, alas I am old, so cannot attend, but! It's a beautiful spot at sunset and the Nelson Room (upstairs private bar and person checking names) is exquisite

My workplace isn't in South, but they are used to holding kink events, so a kink adjacent one should be fine

Subject to day, time, work etc I could be up for this!

Any preferences for 'south'.. Ie, Bromley or is Southbank an option?

Haven't been into Central since March last year, so go only know what's still open in the way of decent venues.

Sound interesting, my FWB may also be interested. Honestly I think it's a good thing...I've never felt comfortable being potentially the youngest person at a swingers social or event. I'm aware there are people under 25 on here but it is a bit niche for our age group imo.

London - Barking

I’d certainly be interested in joining for this!

One solution, as I’ve done this (hosted a group) many times before, could be simply to rent out a one or two bedroom plus apartment via AirBnB/Booking.com etc (larger the better if you envisage a large amount of people). Ensure that there’s no staff on premises who could curb/put an end to the fun and that you have the entire property to yourself. When meeting to pickup keys if it’s not self checkin then keep up the guise of it being an innocent trip to the city for a West send show and a shopping spree haha (it’s easily believable). Then once the landlord has left you are free to start bringing in the guest list to play. Just be mindful of checking out the next day and ending the session with enough time to clear up and vacate at the very latest half hour before the official checkout time. Everyone that joins can contribute say £20-£30 a head (not too pricey but not too little if you invite a lot of people) towards the cost of the apartment rental which is only fair as everyone attending is benefitting the same amount as one another and all in it for no more no less than the same thing so should all contribute to support you in the cost.

But yea I’d definitely be up for this idea that you suggest!

On the kink scene they have munches (socials) for under 35s and also for under 25s. Think most in those age groups attend those type of events than swinger events.

I think it might be easier if you look in the forum's for anything being hosted during the end of October and if there's nothing in the London area, just go for it.

There's a lot of members on here, so shouldn't be hard to get a decent attendance, even if there is an event being hosted nearby.

There is already a very successful social in Croydon open to all ages. As someone under 40 who has been to many socials I'd say None of them have been aimed at older swingers and the average age I would say was around 40.

Good luck if you want to try it but there's a reason there aren't many socials for the under 40's because they're just not well attended the same as for clubs.

There are 2 socials planned in London at the end of October already and I have been advertised in this London section. Its actually harder than you think to get decent attendance that isn't just single man.

I feel like there are socials for though under 40 but just not swingers socials. There are 2 socials (munches) on the fetish lifestyle site that are for under 35's and under 25's and both are well attended. I just feel like women in their 20s tend to gravitate towards those sorts of events than events for swinging. That's just all from my personal experience of course, so I may be entirely wrong.

We are very much aware of the one in Croydon we attended every single one apart from last Friday.

It’s because of that social and talking to the occasional young people that attended that we decided to try and hold an under 40’s social.

Lots of comments where made to us that they felt unwanted and fairly unwelcome at socials with an olde crowd.

Your experience might be different but the majority of under 40’s seem up for this.

So if we do get chance to organise this then we will but we have a life outside of fab and that takes priority.

I think that is very hurtful to the organisers have that social who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. And actually you say the majority run the 40C not for this you had hardly any responses except from single man I think this is very disrespectful. If you want to hold a social go for it but don't this respect and now there because thats unnecessary.

"Sorry this thread is being ruined by people who are getting offended for no reason.

What does everyone think about beginning of November/mid November time.

Get the social in before everyone has Christmas work drinks.

Message or reply on here.

Just be wary people are watching your replies

"

Sounds like a plan, add me to the list please

Sorry everyone that has messaged and shown interest. Our private and work lives are just too busy to organise anything this year.

Shane really because we would of liked to have met more people our age.

After certain comments and messages it’s still clear that people feel threatened by the under 40’s having their own social. Accusations of us doing this just for the money don’t help either.

If people want to know we was happy to foot the bill ourselves we don’t think people should pay to attend socials.

If anyone else wants to take over organising a under 40’s feel free. Just be prepared for backlash because your not an ‘established social’

Stag and Vixen.

I use to host socials too initially the first one open to all then I put an age cap on it (under 45) and it worked out great, did that for a year, but it was such hard work. I remember getting some backlash from some fellas who frequented other socials and said I was discriminating them. I didn't listen to them to be honest. I wanted to create a social that I felt comfortable in and those my age felt comfortable attending with those they felt they may have a lot more to talk about with.

I've attended Under 35 munches (socials) in the kink scene and I've enjoyed socialising with those closer to my age as I felt we had a lot more relatable topics to talk about. There is even an under 25 munch and I don't qualify, but I don't mind. Let them have that space.

That's not a crime, people are allowed to create events for as long as there is an interest in attending them.
