"Best of luck with it. Sorry to hear that you are in hospital " Yea it’s a bummer really. In the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful countryside in a lovely single room with amazing food. Tough but I’m getting through it. Plus I will get my levels good for the first time in 23 years. T

"Whatever helps. Found getting it under control in hospital didn't translate to real life due to the lack of movement. Much easier now with the sensor to show what's happening in real time " Agree about movement as today they have stopped me going for walks. Plus I’ve been doing it all wrong for 23 years and I can’t run so high forever. Pump and meter are coming tomorrow and look ok and easy to use so scared but looking forward to that!!!! T

"Hopefully you are all using a cgm like the libre sensor. It makes such a difference " I'm type 1 and have been for a long time. Libre meter isn't much use for me personally as its not dvla compliant. Dvla still want actual blood tests so I ditched it but I would imagine it would be good in most other situations.

"I’m type 2 but inject insulin x How’s that work flirty as I thought Type 1 injections Type 2 diet tablets T" I thought the same but there appear to be exceptions. They had me on type 2 tablets for a while even though I was still injecting after 30 years of being type 1

I know I am self destructive " I have heard about an injection that I’m sure begins with a v that’s like metaforim . I’m a twat and in 23 years have never taken it seriously which is why I’m impotent and I don’t jizz as it goes into my bladdder when i cum. I’ve had 13 lazer eye ops and can have no more so its going blind for me. And the doc has just been in to tell me my liver is failing yet being in hospital now for four days and being put back to factory settings I feel amazing and want to continue feeling this way instead of sleeping all day eating then sleeping at night. Take it seriously Look after yourself And live your best life Flirty. T

Even trying hard it didn't behave as they said it should and now I am getting some complications. Have a big black blob in my right eye that appeared at the end of March and hasn't shifted. Hope that your factory reset helps

She maintains her levels very well maybe that's the reason The good levels may be a reason, my local ccg said that I had to have a certain hba1c but I thought that had changed " Spoke to my daughter who says she is on an old type of insulin, didn't want to change as she is well maintained and happy. GP told her before she can move on she will need to be prescribed a new form of insulin, which she is in the process of injecting. I can understand her being resistant to the change as her balance is so well maintained on her usual regime. Let's just see how in pans out, main thing is she stays well. Thanks for the advice.

"My daughter (10) was diagnosed last year after going into DKA- we had no idea, completely missed the symptoms. She was so ill, she would have been dead by morning if we hadn’t taken her to hospital Happened to our daughter too. Bit wobbly at first and a few hospital stints, especially through university but she's done very well and has great control. Sadly, because she has good control you tend to at the back of the queue for new tech. She has chosen not to have a pump at this stage but does pay for the monitor which sticks to your arm. Her friends are fab and always carry a Mars bar and glucose sweets on a night out. She has her ups and downs but hasn't stopped her education or employment. Wish you all the best of luck. If a lady with Type 1 can run a country, hope for all. Ifeel the symptoms just aren’t talked about enough, even close friends and family didn’t twig or suspect type one leading up to her diagnosis. She’s injects and has a libre and was supposed to be getting a pump but lockdown happened and all clinics stopped for now so we need to hang on a bit longer. It’s certainly taken over our lives, that’s for sure!"

Your daughter will love the pump when she gets one as it’s so simple to fill fit and use and will make her life more normal which for a ten year old is very important. I can only wish you the very best of luck going forward with her care and hope she is coping with it all well. T

I just hope that she’s honest and sensible and has a good group of friends that will help look after her if needed " Nights out with friends, the first few are terrible. Waiting up all night, worrying if the phone rings and when they do eventually get in are they ok during sleep. It does get easier and they will have bad hypos, even the odd hospital visit. Sadly, it goes with the territory but things get more normal or you just get used to this strange normal. All we can say is it has made her a caring, considerate young lady. Great career, social life, travel and boyfriends who are compassionate and understanding. The ones that weren't,well long gone, couldn't cope. It will be fine and the new technology to help manage this terrible condition is moving ahead leaps and bounds. Stay positive.
