Correct me if I'm wrong but but if a man is going to take part in same sex sexual activities ( whether it's to get to his female partner or not) in my eyes makes them bi ? Or am I being old fashioned with my thinking ? . May I add that I have nothing against anyone of any sexual orientation

I'm only asking as a couple who both have straight on their profile was mailing me chatting about meeting then they ask about guy on guy fun when I said I'm not bi and suggested if he changed his profile to bi they would find it easier to find someone who fitted their own preference

I've been asked to meet up with couples where the husband is either bi-sexual or bi-curious, and I always decline politely as I don't have any interest whatsoever in having sex with another guy. I've had bi curious on my profile since I joined.

I wasn't 100 % sure what to label myself to be honest when joined

I thought that as I'd like to try MFM I better put bi curious as my label.

I'm new to all this in fairness so thought that was what it meant

I got some private messages from women having a go at me for being foolish in putting down bi curious because thats not what it meant and that Im 100 % straight so I changed it .

However the more I thought about the more I realised I wasn't being honest.

If I'm ever in a situation when I'm with a couple and we were all enjoying ourselves well then it wouldnt bother me to be orally bi as I've seen it described.

So I changed my profile back to bi curious.

Since then I've had single "straight" men contact me (fab straight )and couples that the men are bi but don't want to put that on their profile because it will stop other couples from contacting them.

So yes labels would help but since a huge amount of people lie anyway...then you're always going to get people asking about bi/ straight play

OP you're going on as if there's no consequence in our society to labelling yourself as a bi man, when in fact there is HUGE stigma against bi men (as evidenced in this thread). Lots of women are biphobic and wouldn't play with a bi man, lots of couples too. It's glaringly obvious why men who are more open about their sexual partners don't want to identify as bi.

People are scared of them now for various reasons. These may include reducing the chances with others. Might be they are actually uncomfortable with certain connotations that a particular label represents. Might be they are confused.

I think we sometimes get caught up in sexuality as something that can be strictly defined. Indeed, most people (outside and on this site) fall loosely between two norms: hetro or homosexual.

But because we're on here, in a way we've made different choices. We all obviously want something different to the status quo (maybe they want it too, but don't know?).

My two cents is that as long as people are honest early, and we're all not afraid to ask for what we want, then there shouldn't be a problem.

It's also okay not to know what you want or change what that is over time or with different people. Personally, as a straight man, I've experimented with men - now I know it's not my thing.

But I also wouldn't discount being attracted to a particular man in a given context - doesn't that defeat the purpose of life, to explore...?

Good point. Given they incredible difficulty and awkwardness that it takes to add that extra line to your profile.. its WAY too much to have to do in order to avoid getting "pissed off" so much.

I agree, you don't need to explain your sexuality to anyone. But when your sexuality forms a basis of information for someone else, you must, at least, be upfront.

For instance, if a person is saying that they'll do one thing in order to get to a partner (or get their foot in the door) and are not prepared to act, then I believe that that dishonesty is unhelpful.

Maybe it's more imperative that people are /(try be) honest with themselves first and then (try) impart that on the world.

There's also nothing wrong with telling people, 'I don't know'.

We're too fixated on being defined and knowing the answer, when actually someone (on here) might be able to help us to begin to understand.

But, if we're no honest, then we'll never know...

It is clear, unfortunately too many can't accept what one says on profiles, mix that with the way 'bi' has so many different meanings depending on what one wishes it to mean, throw in the number of closet 'bi' who call themselves 'straight' and muddy the term straight.

I went into the shop yesterday and bought some sweetened condensed milk. Went out it in my cake mix and FFS the manufacturer decided to put baked beans in the condensed tin. Absolutely raging. Can't they see the fucking label on it.

Maybe just remove all the labels stick them all on one shelf and we can pick and mix to our delight.

Think the issue isn't about labeling, but rather honesty. If they'rere dishonest be about this important issue then what else are they dishonest about? If they're more concerned about a particular label than being honest then there's something deeply amis.

Pansexual is an attraction, emotional, or romantic or sexual to other people regardless of their gender. I see the beauty in everyone. I'm attracted to some of them, I'm sexually attracted to a few of them, and I'm only interested in being sexual with a very small number of women. I can admire a male body, and a female body, but I'm only sexually aroused by beautiful female bodies. Why limit yourself? Pleasure can be found everywhere.
