Is there any one on here just like me? That are self employed or an employer, that are not able to work due to the Coronavirus?

Self employed but in work as Im counted as essential services

You can collevt the gov money if you need to

Look up gov.ie for details

The main thing at present is to look after your mental health.

I've spend a few nights over the last couple of years worrying about how to pay my suppliers but im not worrying now....we're all in the same boat...all you can do is conserve money and look after number 1...good luck with it

Yip, I'm heavily commission based, and although not "self employed" as such, 80% of my basic wouldn't even touch the sides of monthly outgoings.. Hoping either my employer comes to the party or there's something in the pipeline to accommodate lots of folk in a, similar position.

Self employed here and home til this is over. Luckily I've been flat out up to now so won't feel the pinch for a while. Tbh,I'm actually looking forward to spending the time at home with the kids. They're in secondary school and doing their classes online,which is fantastic...also means less time for them to be bored! I just hope it's over sooner rather than later though, for the whole countrys sake.

The problem with it is the qualifications to get the 70% payment

Your turnover has to be down 70 %

You mustn't be able to afford to pay the staff

Then you're technically insolvent so could be accused of trading while insolvent as far as I know

Turnover has to be 25% down not 75%.. also being unable to pay doesn't necessarily mean you are insolvent. It would mean you are unable to maintain cashflow necessary to the business.. for example keeping back money needed to keep marketing going.

Self emplyoed here..13 people working for me and we're off for the 2 weeks. The covid payment will help but 3 of my employees just drew down their mortages..worrying time for us all
