Killing me with love

I thought my teenage daughter was bored with school closure and social distancing.

She cleans the house now and offers to cook dinner when I am at work.

She brought me breakfast in bed Saturday morning.

She insists we go for a walk together every evening.

It dawned on me today when walking and talking she was worried about me as I am over 50.

She now wants us to go jogging next weekend to build up my fitness levels and my immunity.

God bless her, I am proud of her and love her but she is going to kill me before the virus does.

She is right! Regular activity, good diet and your immune system will be definitely stronger

I am proud. If any of you have kids let them know that you are alright.

You spend so much time worrying about them it is easy to forget they are not always thinking of themselves and sometimes they worry about you.

If you don't hear from this time next Sunday please know I collapsed while jogging.

Look at the brighter side of it: you dont need (like me) eat every morning the same breakfast almost 2 weeks as of now

My 6 years old son is a cutie but having two left hands to cook. Still loving him very much!

I love to hear things like this! It's easy to think our teenagers are so wrapped up in their own lives that they don't often think of us parents. But they do. My eldest is 16 and regularly asks how I am and how my day was. I get a lump in my throat every time and love the fact that he cares. It sounds like you have a great relationship with your daughter...enjoy every walk with her. Those times are precious. Long may they last!

Your daughter sounds like a wonderful human , but I'd give the jogging part a skip, as every keen runner I know has knackered knees and hips from yeas of slogging the roads. You have a nice river in Fermoy, so maybe get yourself a double rowing scull. Rowing is a great way to stay fit, and it's low impact on one's joints.
