Its important to me, but honestly its not very important to most.

Very popular people with lots of meets openly admitting they bareback at meets etc. If that kind of stuff does not put them off then I cant see this virus.

We ourselves are not meeting!!. but as it we are not on lock down or quarantine.Only people showing signs of c19 are asked to stay in . we have been asked to reduce our movement and think of others that are high risk .if there people happy to meet and risk others it’s up to them no matter how selfish we think it is !

Despite all the warnings and world media coverage about the gravity of this situation unless its starring them in the face and when it's too late they wont take it seriously and at that stage of course it will be everyone else's fault

There are two types of people in Ireland right now :

1) people who are taking precautions to limit the spread.

2) people who aren’t.

I think common sense should always prevail! Wash your hands ,stop panicking ,if people wanna meet and they are perfectly healthy if non of your business ,is not like they are inviting a huge social gathering orgy!

You can still be kind and sociable to others there is not need to act like everyone has the plaque !

If you are sick stay at home dont spread your germs!

Go to use hse.ie and who.int for advise and guidelines and stop spreading panic it does not help!

Remember if you practice good hygiene and use common sense you are a relative low risk and probably will be fine ... anyways I think we could all do with a break from this forum post and spreading mass hysteria!

See that's the thing - we kinda DO have to act like people have the plague. You have absolutely no way of knowing if a person is ill so what choice have we?

I'm not willing to risk my children's or my health by carrying on like everything is normal. It isn't and it won't be for a long time.

taking fab aside, this is a difficult time for people ,people will feel lonely, depressed and while social gatherings are not advice is always important to keep that in mind , to check on others make sure everyone is well and the we are kind to others, ethicastes can change like no hand shakes hugs etc but that doesn't mean we must be cruel selfish and cold . Practising good personal hygiene is always important. I would rather get sick and die than be cruel and selfish to others but everyone can choose the way they wanna act !

I'm just going to assume you're taking the piss. This virus isn't about 'personal hygiene' - taking a shower every day isn't going to stop you catching anything.

Also, why do you keep telling people to stay home if they're sick? Please tell us all - how exactly do we know if a person is sick, given they can be asymptomatic for days. If you know the answer to this you could save the country try a fortune on testing kits!!

For anyone who hasn't seen it watch the video inside an Italian hospital circulating on social media today! They can not cope with the amount of people needing intensive care treatment. Ireland is 3 week's behind Italy!.People are not scare mongering or causing panic. Anyone that can't see that there is something truly wrong with you.

For anybody maybe not grasping the seriousness of this situation.. My mother's urgent, and we had hoped, lifesaving cancer surgery next week has just been cancelled. The hospital in question has been ordered to prepare for a massive influx of covid cases from midweek onwards, I was told this directly by my mother's consultant. He said he didn't know when or even IF she would get her surgery

This is the real world consequence of not taking this seriously and doing your part

I'm sorry to hear that, it must be a very difficult time for you and your family. Unfortunately there will always be self-absorbed people who can only see things from their own perspective, and at this stage they're not worth wasting your precious energy and emotions on. I wish you and yours the best x

Yep, I know someone supposed to be travelling abroad for potentially life-saving treatment, but that can't happen now.

This is all getting far too real now.

that's the sad reality of what's happening at the moment, lots of innocent people suffering more than they should. I hope things work out for her.

Despite all the precautions that everyone is taking, it isn't going to stop the virus. This is all being done to slow the spread and the burden on the health system. This community is a small drop in the population. I work in retail and we'll be open through the whole thing.

People aren't respecting social distancing. They are going shopping with their entire family. People are throwing gloves, tissues and masks on the ground when they are leaving, these are being provided for free when you enter the store. Masks and gloves are completely pointless anyway, if you don't believe me go and look it up they don't provide any protection whatsoever. There's a lot worse issues happening than two consenting adults or couples meeting up for a ride. This virus is going to spread because a huge amount of the people in this country simply don't give a shit.

The sad and simple fact is we are probably all going to get it, it's only a matter of time. The last article I read about a cure/vaccine gave a rough estimate of a year to develop anything. This is taking into account testing and whatever else they need to do.

bad enough many aren't respecting what was asked of us to do in vanilla world but to see morons looking and HAVING meets during this crisis says a lot about them and their attitude towards others.

"

I'm just going to assume you're taking the piss. This virus isn't about 'personal hygiene' - taking a shower every day isn't going to stop you catching anything.

Also, why do you keep telling people to stay home if they're sick? Please tell us all - how exactly do we know if a person is sick, given they can be asymptomatic for days. If you know the answer to this you could save the country try a fortune on testing kits!!"

you obviously dont even know what hygiene or personal hygiene means #facepalm ! Anyways pointless

fair play to you for continuing to go to work and keeping such essential services open ! Obviously people dont understand hygiene and common sense aswell as common courtesy

I wonder what proportion of the people who will accept the risks to thier own and everyone else's health that this pandemic poses for the sake of a meet have had a sexual health test?

I suspect that would be even more interesting

"For anybody maybe not grasping the seriousness of this situation..

I wish you and yours the best x"

Thank you x

From Dublin living in Amsterdam

I live in Amsterdam and even the ladies in the red light, who rely on selling sex for an income have ceased working. The Dutch prime minister is to make an announcement tomorrow as to whether the country will go into complete lock down as a lot if people are still oblivious to the seriousness of the situation.

"We are actually monitoring very closely those meeting or looking to meet, if they'll take this health risk then they'll take others.. "

It’s a very good point! I will never ever trust people that continue to meet these days.

Meeting is still possible if you are inventive enough. I think we should all learn how to use those little flags they guide in airplanes with. You don't even have to be in the same coffee shop, just need a clear line of site

if people care so little about the potential consequences/dangers of meeting while this virus is about, what does it say about their attitude to safe sex & regular testing for STI's
