IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES... IT WAS THE WORST OF TIMES

Right fellow Fab (abstenent) Feckers

As we know the world is now a very different place

and as Dickens (no, he's not on Fab) once said...

"It was the best of times

...it was the worst of times"

Myself,

I've literally taken that to heart & over the last few weeks, have made a few changes. Here they are...

- I'm now eating more green veggies, healthy foods & am actually loving it (I know.. was surprised about that one too )

- I've started meditating for calmness inside & started an online meditation group

- Have developed the strongest ever bond & relationship with my parents. Earlier, I even showed my 70-something dad how to use an oven instead of a microwave) No doubt, I'll be getting a phone call to talk him through it again ...but he's my Dad!

- I say "hello" to neighbours and have a quick chit-chat with the staff at supermarkets, filling stations, etc (the real heroes out there in public, serving us all)

- Am touching out (on social media ...) to people who I haven't chatted to in years... and all have come back to me so far

- I'm apologising to people I've been a dick to in the past

- Have almost completely given up listening to the news and chatting more to people I know on the ground out there to get an honest appraisal of what's going on

..also when am driving I listen to Lyric FM instead of the shite that sounds like a car alarm which used to pass as music (okay, okay... that one might be related to the midlife crises ) but anyway, very little if any news for me

- I'm looking to start getting people to share their skills and expertise to start building small businesses and ventures. Barters not so bad you know, just saying

- Am also going to treat the rusty patio furniture on my balcony next week. Fooked if I know how but will give it a go...

...and this is coming from a confused fecker

who 4 weeks ago didn't know where his life had been going for the last 30 years

So, it could be the best of times and it could be something else ...but fuck it, if that something else happens, at least I know I gave it my best shot

-----------------------------

So what I'm trying to say is...

(about fecking time too )

Has anybody else here realised yet that Varadkar or

the Kardasions aren't going to get us out of this mess???

And if you have made that realisation

Are there any affirmative & necessary changes that you're making or have made in your life?

Just want to add...

If I come across as condescending above, I'm not

as anyone who knows me knows that I'm really not that kind of person (Promise )

...but just decided recently that I'm going

to speak my mind as honestly as I can be

"Years ago Tim, age gets to us all "

I don't think of it as getting older, it's more like evolving into a better version of me
