So.

To start off - a wee mea culpa; I can be a smart arse. I can be self righteous, egotistical and incredibly judgemental.

I am by no means a perfect or even decent human being.

So if, while you're reading this you feel the need to point out some of my many flaws, there is really no need. I am already painfully aware of same.

Having said that, we appear to be facing into some long months of one of the most unique challenges that we as a nation, as a world, have ever had to confront.

By know we all probably have an inkling of the inherent physical, social, health, economic and logistical problems the coming months are likely to bring. They are not insurmountable but they will be difficult.

I have been a proud member of the swinging and BDSM scene for over 15 years. I have been a front line worker for 13 years. I've also been fortunate enough to travel the world during that same period. I don't think it hyperbole to say (given my lifestyle, my profession and my hobbies) that I have been granted the honour of seeing a fascinating cross section of humanity. I have seen the best and the worst we have to offer.

It is now that I would like to appeal to all of us in our community to rise to the challenge that lays ahead of us. Of course I mean curtailing meets and large events and meets (many of us have already done so: RVC, EE, KK, Envy and individual Fabbers) but in a broader sense I mean our attitudes and behaviours on Fab. From snide statuses (which I'm particularly guilty of), to sarcastic or insulting forum replies, to straight out insulting or threatening messages.

Mental health is an ongoing issue and everyone suffers in life.

Now, more than ever, people's self esteem, anxiety, feelings of isolation, paranoia and depression are likely to worsen over the coming months.

You just don't know, when you attack or mock or denigrate someone on here, the affect you have on someone.

I would humbly ask us all, myself included, to be kind. To be supportive. Understanding. Loving. Helpful. Reach out. Talk. I'd rather hear it from your lips then read it in your suicide note.

I am not perfect, and certainly have not been, on Fab or forums or in the real world, but from today I will attempt to do my utmost to rectify that.

And to those I have scorned, mocked, excluded or hurt. I apologise, unreservedly.

I love you all, you absolute sex Gods and Goddesses. I miss you all too.

Let's get through this.

Well said PB, maybe we should all be a little more caring not just for ourselves, but those around us as well. All too often I have read through the forums and seen how unkind we are to each other. We are all entitled to our opinion, so maybe lets be mire tolerant of others without deriding them.

I'm not saying pretend.

I'm just suggesting that we might be a little bit kinder in our attitudes and responses.

There's a gulf between pretending to be nice, Stepford Wife Style, and making a genuine effort not to be as acerbic as we sometimes can be.

In my profession I'm often met with horrendous attitudes, threats and even violence, but I have to make a genuine attempt to understand where these negative displays are rooted in. It's not just planting a forced smile on my mush - it's the opposite of a false face, it's empathy.

To start off - a wee mea culpa; I can be a smart arse. I can be self righteous, egotistical and incredibly judgemental.

I am by no means a perfect or even decent human being.

So if, while you're reading this you feel the need to point out some of my many flaws, there is really no need. I am already painfully aware of same.

Having said that, we appear to be facing into some long months of one of the most unique challenges that we as a nation, as a world, have ever had to confront.

By know we all probably have an inkling of the inherent physical, social, health, economic and logistical problems the coming months are likely to bring. They are not insurmountable but they will be difficult.

I have been a proud member of the swinging and BDSM scene for over 15 years. I have been a front line worker for 13 years. I've also been fortunate enough to travel the world during that same period. I don't think it hyperbole to say (given my lifestyle, my profession and my hobbies) that I have been granted the honour of seeing a fascinating cross section of humanity. I have seen the best and the worst we have to offer.

It is now that I would like to appeal to all of us in our community to rise to the challenge that lays ahead of us. Of course I mean curtailing meets and large events and meets (many of us have already done so: RVC, EE, KK, Envy and individual Fabbers) but in a broader sense I mean our attitudes and behaviours on Fab. From snide statuses (which I'm particularly guilty of), to sarcastic or insulting forum replies, to straight out insulting or threatening messages.

Mental health is an ongoing issue and everyone suffers in life.

Now, more than ever, people's self esteem, anxiety, feelings of isolation, paranoia and depression are likely to worsen over the coming months.

You just don't know, when you attack or mock or denigrate someone on here, the affect you have on someone.

I would humbly ask us all, myself included, to be kind. To be supportive. Understanding. Loving. Helpful. Reach out. Talk. I'd rather hear it from your lips then read it in your suicide note.

I am not perfect, and certainly have not been, on Fab or forums or in the real world, but from today I will attempt to do my utmost to rectify that.

And to those I have scorned, mocked, excluded or hurt. I apologise, unreservedly.

I love you all, you absolute sex Gods and Goddesses. I miss you all too.

Let's get through this.

And Christ all fucking mighty, when this is over, let's have the biggest fucking orgy any of us have ever seen!!!
