"There is an irish girl living in Italy, shes online saying all people in Ireland should be self isolating and not going out at all. sorry should of added, just to get food, that's it, no walks, no spins in cars etc." She's a good friend of mine. She's in the 3rd week of a 6 week lockdown at the moment. She was telling us all on Facebook for weeks how bad it could get. Also sorry to hear your news BogM.

"Are we not getting accurate figures from the HSE no new deaths announced yesterday" A silly question but if all are not getting tested now and people are told if they have symptons to self isolate...so how can the published positive figures be accurate?

"Are we not getting accurate figures from the HSE no new deaths announced yesterday" Figures announced are from data from earlier in day, so figures are a day behind as such That's my understanding, I stand to be corrected.

" Well they are accurate in relation to the diagnosed cases.... But ya of couse the numbers will be higher the more you test. I was more talking about death rates.

" Clearly the true figure must be way higher at this point, the health service simply cannot keep up with it and there would always be a time lag anyway. There will be many who suffer a mild illness and are never tested or choose to hide it, yet can easily spread it to others who will be more seriously affected-all the more reason why we need to limit social contact as much as possible.

Ah maybe ya...I thought they waited until the evening to announce for that reason. I just have seen a new death announced which we saw pretty quickly for the first two. Just got me wondering. Its not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things

"There is an irish girl living in Italy, shes online saying all people in Ireland should be self isolating and not going out at all. " That's pretty much what I've been doing since Thursday, it's no fun with two young kids and no adult company! Thank God for Fab Did you hear mentioned on the news the other night that school closures may remain in place for up to SIXTEEN WEEKS?!

"I just wonder is the continual counting and waiting for news of more deaths just creating more angst and fear. The numbers are only going to go one way for the next few wkd so maybe it's time to focus on some positives " Of course it is, I've warned my kids of the danger of reading every single thing about it, concentrate on keeping a routine as normal as possible without compromising one's health or that of others

"The worst place you could be in times like this is a town or a city..the more people there are around you the more chance of you catching it also whilst washing your hands is a great way to prevent the spread of any bacterial or viral infection it does very little in the prevention of covid 19..the primary way this spreads is through water droplets in the air.. Couching sneezing even speaking produce water droplets and if your mouth nose or eyes comes into contact with these droplets you will be infected.. If you can imagine on a cold day you can see your own breath almost as an exhaust fumes.. You can only see this when it's cold but it's like that all the time.. People are constantly emitting water droplets that's why this infection is so easily transmissible and they say that masks are no help you will still catch it total rubbish any type of barrier or screen between your mouth and nose will make it much more difficult to come into contact with said droplets.. That's why health care workers wear n95 respirator masks.. They do work They are also using eye protection because the wet eye will accept water droplets and cause infection so either stay indoors or if u have if go out keep distance between u and others BogM i am sorry to hear of the loss of a loved one "
