"The economic damage that corona causes most likely dwarf the savings that will result out of this crisis. " I'm not an actuary so I can't debate the point from a learned point of view. However, consider the cost of long term elderly care and chemotherapy for folks with lung problems. Not cheap and often a few years long. This is a 2-3 month pain point and then likely killed off as temperatures warm up. May well work out in governments favour. As I say, just a thought.

"Thinking out loud here but won't this probably assist any government? 1. It mostly strikes the elderly. That's going to reduce the pressure on the Pension Bubble they keep going on about and return what was the status quo of mortality rates over 75. 2. People with underlying issues also die off, reducing the strain on the health sector in general. I'm a smoker with a pain in my back so, if I get it, I'm not hopeful. Just so you know that I'm not saying this in jest. It does work in governments favour in respect of the above 2 points though. Just saying, I love a plausible conspiracy theory. Your thoughts appreciated but I'm not responding to most." stop watching the x files this is real everyone is at risk

"I read somewhere there's a UK gov projection of 500k deaths, worst case, a fair number alright.. However, there was £10b wiped off the ftse on Wednesday alone, add that to the now inevitable recession and don't think those figures line up chum.. There are enough conspiracy theories around, more are definitely not needed" To be fair the I'm not on for conspiracy theories and I agree, this is going to send the world economy into chaos for fuck knows how long, what do we do? Over react? For once I think the government have stepped up and yes could do more...but with respect to them its unprecedented

"Do you not think that this is possibly natures way of controlling the ever increasing population in the world Just a thought" I thought that too. It's like nature trying to find balance. As much as we like to think we're of some importance, we're really not. We could all be wiped out in a few months and nature will start over again and not miss us one bit. Obviously I'm talking bigger picture here people. I know we're all relevant or play an important role in the lives of our friends, families and loved ones. I'm just talking on a universal scale so don't be giving me shit for having a thought ![]()

"It's the media scaremongering creating panic! Every time put on the news all they do is talk about death but never mention the thousands who have and are making full recovery from the virus! As of 10.50 this morn 146 k cases worldwide , 5,443 deaths, 72,572 have fully recovered, 62,254 mild infection! " Whi do you mean by media though? Mainstream media is beibg pretty factual and to the point. Social media well everyone can have an opinion there. This isnt soley about the death rate from the actual virus though. The reason there aelre not more cases and deaths is because of the reaction across the globe. Services being cancelled medical professinals being called in from holidays time off ans other areas.... People really need to start followibv guidelines and avoiding social interaction where at all possible so that the proper authorities can get a hold on this
