No Judgement is a term thats pop up alot recently on the forum.

Are you not just judging something to be acceptable or not?

What are peoples thoughts?

We all make judgements all day, every day, whether we admit it or not. It's constant and normal but the norm is not to tell people about it.

I think the word has long had a negative connotation to it. Everywhere.

When someone refers to having "judged" someone we immediately infer that they're 'looking down' on them or view them in a bad light.

Whereas we realistically judge anyone and everyone be it positively or negatively; it's natural, it's not a bad thing. It's how we make friends etc

It's how we proceed and interact, or lack thereof, afterwards. To me "no judgement" means as much as "not my circus, not my monkeys"; I may or may not agree with a person's actions or opinions but I don't have to get involved with them either.

When people say "No judgement" they mean "No negative judgement".

You rarely hear them complain when someone says "thats sexy", which is a positive judgement. They dont throw everything out the window and say "SHUT THE FUCK UP BITCH ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME"

But the thing is, if people cant judge something negative, then they cant judge something positive.

So I encourage everyone to judge me. But obviously its not for everyone, some people might have mental health issues.

If you want to go down that road then we can talk about the famous fiscal space episode where FF, FG and Labour did their sums wrong by over €2 billion and had to be corrected by SF.

Our western world has created a lot of insecurities because of unrealistic expectations that were told to believe or we aren't good enough. That sort of society then also are quick to point fingers.

We all make judgements at every turn or event, we have have to. Positive and negative ones. I am one that doesn't believe ever negative judgement is a bad thing either. Sadly our snowflake society panders to this and hands out tissues and says aaaaaw you're actually much better than you really are, it's not PC to be supportively honest, yet fine to keep the unrealistic expectations alive and no real supportive answers when what's really needed is support and a positive moving forward in the knowledge of the judgement.

No it's hard at times, it's not always nice, but it can be good if supported and helps some open their eyes to the reality of the situation.

I know a lot will not like this but we will stand to differ and in no way does it change my view of you as a person either. It's just an opinion which can change without the person changing if that makes sense.(Non personal)

I think it has alot to do with social media and ourselves, because we choose to make so much of our life's public these day's wether it's posting on a public form or even uploading a pic here. Your basically putting yourself out there for other's to judge you and it's not alway's going to be good. We all do it everyday unconsciously but as someone else said if you don't agree with how someone live's their life or their opinion you can simply choose not to interact with that person or just mind your bussiness and go on about your own life. It realy is that simple

Unless it adversely effects yourself, society or its a friend then as you say there's no need to interact about it.

I think we're always judging someone on some level and it's probably impossible not to. The important thing, I think, is to have a strong sense of self awareness so that when you do catch yourself subconsciously judging someone you can try to turn it around and choose compassion instead.
