"Friends with benefits" is it the equivalent to "a regular" in Fab speak?

How often would you expect to meet?

Same I met a guy for over a year know he was having fun with other woman too. And we had lunch, did the movies , and lots of great sex he was the reason I stuck with fab and definitely helped me feel better about sex, about my body and enjoying sex.

Regular for sex meetings only

Friend with benefits for anything start from chit chat, sunbathing, shopping, going to the cinema / opera/ theatre and sex if we are both in a mood. If it happens - great, if doesn't - no end of the world.

I think it becomes a bit more than a regular or a fwb when you go exclusive. Isn't the idea of a regular or a fwb that there's no commitment?

Don't know if there's a difference between a fwb and a regular, the latter might be more a fuck buddy.

As for the frequency, there's no set rules, I think a high frequency increases the risk of things going wrong ie feelings get in the way or it runs quicker out of steam.

Yeah a regular meet is just someone I have sex with but a friend with benefits is someone I do other things like hang out and have the chats with not all about sex.. both have their place!

if just meeting for sex then little chance of it becoming more...however Feb & doing couple type stuff...a rocky road & drought with the jealousy danger

I’ve had a fwb for nearly a year now. We meet when our schedules allow. Our meets aren’t always about sex, we could just meet for a walk or have lunch or whatever. So it can happen

Maybe wrong but a regular meet up between a couple and a guy/girl is easier achieved and sustained , from an emotional point of view

That if two singles started having regular fun , if could be quite easy for one or both to start having feelings.

Not to say feelings couldn't arise with a couple but the fact that they are married would cause it happen less.

That the thought process of having more emotional feelings is harder than to achieve with 3 people involved .

Ive had both from here - one is a guy i meet semi regularly just for sex. It only happens when the schedules line up and theres no drinks/texting/etc. We don't keep in touch per se.

Ive also had a 'fwb thing' with someone here for 18 months where we only met one another and we also hung out socially. It wasnt all about sex.

Two different things in my opinion.

Think it depends on each dynamic.

I've had a few regulars and FWB. With the regulars we kept personal life distance for various reasons. As with real life friends,some FWB would call anytime just for a chat over an issue or to chinwag some less so. It all depends on the dynamic and circumstances.

Some manage the boundaries set better than others. Only you know how you can do that and if one or both is for you

I have a FWB for the past 5 months, she also has another FWB all that time, I’ve actually met her other FWB a few times socially with her...I see other people too but no others on a regular basis but that’s down to me. We meet up normally once a week, We message a lot and we have had a few trips away. I don’t see a huge difference in a FWB or a regular or a FB, but I prefer the FWB term as it seems more intimate and respectful, which in my case I want it to be.
