Political Anoraks and Sunday's Count.

I'm just wondering if there are many more political anoraks looking forward to the election result count on Sunday. I'll be watching the excitement as the boxes are opened and the ballots counted. All the while wondering who's turn it will be to form a government, and watch homelessness rise, the health system fail, and precarious employment increase further.

Maybe I'll be proved wrong.

Limerick

I have an interest in it. My guess is it'll be a ff greens Labour with a scatter of independents that will form government . Fg will get a roasting and I don't think sinn féins vote will match the polls. They will rely on the young vote and I just don't think young people will vote. I really hope I'm wrong for the sake of balance alone, Ireland needs a left wing government, we've had Conservative right for the last hundred years. Too much of the same thing can't be good

I'm inclined to agree. Since the foundation of our state, its been conservative governments FF, or FG, or some minority supported form of them. Wealth is increasingly concentrated in fewer and fewer hands. Time for Left Wing change I think.
