You haven't asked for profile advice, OP, so I won't interject in that regard but most will look at that after (or even before) reading a message.

If it doesn't grab, hold and stimulate someone's attention then it can be an uphill battle right away!

I always respond to mails that are unique.... I find some of the mails I get are all the same "hows fab treating ya?" "How are you?"

The ones that stand out the most are the lighthearted ones with a bit of banter in them

You have to take into account the ladies get ungodly amount of messages on a daily basis most saying the same thing with about 95% of them being deleted so getting to your message is down to if you have luck on your side be patient if you catch their attention they will let you know
