Anyone here just moved home from abroad . I did about 8 years ago, it can be difficult to settle back in. Friends have moved on plus your probably living with family members. Guess fab is a good way to meet like minded people for fun and frolics.

Irish people are the friendliest in the world, but hardest in the world to make friends with.

Making friends as an adult is haaaarrrrrrrrrd.

Try make them in work and people will start to roll their eyes every time you approach them etc.

As an adult, how would people recommend making new friends.

"As an adult, how would people recommend making new friends."

join a club, get locked , hold a party,

not necessarily in that order.

+1 making new friends as an adult is hard as many folks already have social groups they grew up with. Try and strike up a conversation with a stranger and most people look at you like you've got 2 heads.

But what if you live somewhere remote or only small. Feels like everyone lives in Dublin.

I totally understand I had to move back home to rural Kildare after my marriage broke up. My advice just get out there. Check local notice boards and local social media for clubs to join.

It's so hard making new friends in your 40s. I made a huge effort in the kids new school joined Parents Association to get to know people.

I signed up for gym classes and got to know people through that. Signed up for the local allotments got to know some gardeners.

Signed up for my first 5k with the local running club who were so supportive..

Signed up for Fab and that's where I met my closest friends. Have met some amazing ladies who I am so lucky to call friends.

Check out the local MensSheds as well. It's for men of all ages they might do a garden or work on various projects like woodwork etc.

People wonder why it's hard meet some in 40s for example. We have lost the ability to have time for each other and communicate.the only way to meet people is

find your true self and emmerse your self in that company or activity.fun being the key

When I moved with my Ex to Ireland , i figured too that it is difficult . I used the music to build bridges , joint a few trad sessions and that helped . Made also a few FAB friends which are friends beyond the sexual part . But it’s tough though
