Christmas was less than a week ago but feels like it was months ago. Is it old age or does it start far too early in the year that when it actually comes around, we’re all just sick of it.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I worked most of Christmas so I feel like it just passed me by this year.

But I agree that it all starting in November is too early for me anyhow I'm usually fed up of it by Christmas day. Mind you that could be old age as well.

Waterford

Christmas is kind of geared around the kids. Now i love christmas and i love decking out the house, presents, bringing them into winterval etc. What i dont like is the absolute insanity that takes over people and turns them into the most ignorant monsters ul ever come across. But himself even said to me on christmas day that its kinda boring for adults which is true i guess

It started on 8th December when I was a kid, now it's full on from Halloween.

There isn't anything in it for adults, once your kids are beyond Santa it's pretty tedious, I just ignore it as much as possible.

Christmas seems to start after Halloween

but I'd seen decorations in a store back in September

Intense competition between shops now means

"Pre Christmas Christmas Sales" etc are now the norm...

In a few years, when online shopping has taken over

we probably won't have any shops (I miss Cleary's..!)

...So feck it, let's enjoy the spectacle while we still have it!

Yeah...there's a lot of early months before hype alright and it seems a consumer cod...

But it's for kids really.

I do like the time off and chill with big fires, drinks and good company..

Best wishes for 2020 !!
