IT’LL BE LONELY THIS CHRISTMAS.....

Hi folks.....

so, I’ll be on my own this Christmas (again). I’m not looking for sympathy or “thinking of you” replies, in fact, quite the opposite really.

For a number of years I’ve wanted to do something productive on the big day and would be interested in helping the homeless.

Does anyone in the North have any contacts, links or advice on how I would go about doing this or who to contact in the Belfast area please?.............any help would be greatly appreciated..... thank you

The Trussel Trust do Xmas dinner at The C of I on the Antrim Rd beside the Lansdowne Hotel. Google them, they would be glad of the help.

Also, the Soup Kitchen at St Patrick’s Chapel in Donegal St are always looking for volunteers. Fair play to you buddy, have a great Xmas whatever you end up doing.

Christmas is just another day to me, but I am not a practicing christian.

Just try wish your christian friends a merry christmas, and try ignore all the people who are not christian and celebrate christmas.

visit a lonely elderly person...there are many in nursing homes that will have no visitors...offer to drive an elderly neighbour to mass/church service.

ask your local priest or vicar whom in the neighbourhood might appreciate a visit...help locally

You can help homeless people or elderly people whom have no visitors, unfortunately. Pop in to the local nursing home and ask the staff and maybe you can play chess or read them a book. Remember, we all can end alone and simple smile and a small gift will be highly appreciated.

Last thought: maybe there is an elderly neighbour with whom you can spend a few hours when free time?
