Just out of curiosity..... If (or maybe you already have) you received a mail from someone and the grammar and spelling was very bad, would it immediately put you of the person and make you think they are as thick as champ?

Somewhere in Co. Down

No half the time I send messages and haven't checked them only to find my phone has changed half the words before I sent it. And some people has dyslexia etc so no I wouldn't judge anyone on their spelling or grammar. I do judge them on rude and abusive messages tho even if they are spelt wrong

My spelling and grammer are for the most part horrendous. But spell check is readily available so there isnt really an excuse for a lazy first message.

I have difficulty spotting my own mistakes and typos when I am texting in a hurry, so kik messages or forum posts might have a few more, for a first message I take more time to proof read, if I have taken the time to send a mail might as well make sure it makes sense

It's usually possible to distinguish between laziness, lack of intelligence and poor written communication skills, whether they latter are caused by dyslexia or other difficulties. I only dismiss someone on the first mail if the content is rude or ignorant, not how it's typed.

I'm absolutely turned off if a first message is full of mistakes tbh. Can't stand it. But once I know the person, I couldn't care less. I actually find it endearing in men I know well.

You can usually tell in a message whether it’s a typo or whether its just lazy/poor writing

A bigger pet hate is they’re/their/there and you’re/your mistakes

Proper pet hate

Not at all,English may not be their first language or as above said lots of people have issues with putting pen to paper or in this case fingers to keys !

Rude ,ignorant, abusive messages on the other hand will lead to the person being blocked !

I wouldn't think anybody is thick because of grammar mistakes, most of us are typing on small phones with thick fingers. then spell check changes the words sometimes. but as you know there are people here that do judge. so I say fuck them and no ragrets

We find it quite easily to distinguish between someone whom English is not their first language, to routine, run of the mill grammar, spelling and autocorrect mistakes and the truly stupid, who have no grasp of the English language, their total lack of punctuaction, their over relience on text talk, make their emails barely legible.

So yes, we are willing to forgive genuine grammar, spelling and autocorrect mistakes, but refuse to except laziness and stupity.

I get what you are saying and you have every right to say so and do so but that doesn't mean those people ain't worth talking to or meeting just because they text a certain way. Sorry I just think it's crazy to judge people over something so small

Laziness, perceived lack of intelligence and lack of imagination are not qualities we search for in potential play partners.

The thing is, when people are getting hundreds of messages, that first message better catch their attention in some positive way - nobody here owes anyone a reply.

I've been in and out of the lifestyle since 2006, mainly as a single guy. I've had profiles on Spainish, UK, Irish and French sites, also the big international one too . I've had meets, attended parties and clubs in all those countries mentioned and also in Croatia, Greece, Italy, Malta and Turkey.

It's my opinion that, as a single guy, due to the the staggering lob sided ratios, you have to make an effort, with not just your messages but also your profile and pics.

This isn't dial a ride, we are not obliged to fuck everyone who messages us on here, there has to be an attraction, and for us that comes not just from physical attributes, but also personality, charm, humour, respect, imagination, etc, etc. So yes, if you send a one line message with little or now care, we will probably over look you without a second thought.

Well I wasn't saying that this is dial a ride that was you're assumption and assumptions are the mother of all fuck ups.

All I'm saying is just because people can't make a effort or just ain't good at it when sending a text doesn't mean lack of intelligence

people that hate the mistakes made in grammar are exactly the type that look down their nose at others. They are the most Narcissistic people I have had the pleasure to meet.
