Has anyone else given up on idea of an actual relationship ....

Been single over 5 years and have been in 4 "proper" relationships.... 3 lasting 2/3 years and one lasting 13 years...

At 44, just don't imagine wanting to go through it all again !! lol

People just don't interact how and where they did years ago. I regularly fantasise about bumping into Mr Right in Tesco queue but I'd inevitably have 37 kids hanging out of me and miss opportunity.

Might match him on Tinder when they're in bed

Thats true. The ould internet and phones have played a massive part in things now. When you see a gang of teens hanging out and they are all glued to their phones and not even looking at each other, you wonder how the hell can most people even hold a normal convo now

The art of non-digital social intervention seems to be gone, or at very least lying dormant. I meet 3 of my 4 exes through friends, whislst doing social stuff like going out as a group to cinema ..... I'm not a very social person for bars, clubs, etc, never have been, so my penultimate ex I meet through POF.

As they say, it often happens when you aren't looking.

I certainly found that to be the case in my younger years.

When I wanted a relationship, was looking but no joy, or not the kind you want long term anyway.

When I wasn't looking, it just happened and was usually great for quite a while.

Guess what? You being your normal self, without trying to create an impression of someone that you aren't, means you are automatically more confident, self assured and fun than if you were trying to be something you aren't. Women prefer seeing the real you and that is what will attract the right one

I've been martied 15years and am really happy being a single now. My family and friends are pushy to find me a life partner. I am really tired of telling them I am happy and if some day I will meet a right guy and I will know he is Mr Right then who knows? Maybe will decide to be in a long relationship again.

This is so true, and it's partly trust in yourself - trusting that you have picked the right person, trusting that you are with them by choice not out of desperation, and trusting that even if it doesn't work out, you will be strong enough to survive. Being secure in yourself makes you an honest and loyal partner unafraid to disclose your vulnerabilities and be truly intimate with someone.

My situation is different,I'm married 29 years with 3 kids and still living in the same house.Im actually lonely in a full house so I stay out working/ helping a charity 2 or 3 nights a week as well as a full time job just to feel fulfilled

We talk but neither of us listen and we really do only stay together because i cant afford to move out and the kids.A cliche I know but true.I miss kissing and cuddling more than anything else to be honest,what do others miss most about not being in a relationship.

I met my current Gf threw a friend. But it turned out she was on here. We are together now in a poly relationship. We are both Bi have our separate meets. But tell each other all about them. This relationship is the best I've ever had. I feel I've found my soulmate. And made possible because of this site opening my mind to things outside what we believe to be the "norm"

I think the longer you are single and used living on your own, then the harder it gets.

Some people can't live or cope on their own, so will just jump from one relationship to the next and to the next, with the any port in a storm mentality or half a loaf is better than no bread....

I have to agree with you that most missing from the relationship is cuddle and kissing. Sex anytime we wanted too but definitely for me will be cuddles: bad day, too much stress - the best therapy ever!;-)

In my opinion it might be a long process but worthwhile. Sex site is even better as you can find your best match here: same preferences, same kinks, no judgement, open talks for any sex related topics.

And who said that women or men from fabworld are worse than others? Its just time, patience and being selective to find Mr or Mrs Right here
