Reoccurring bout of insomnia.. Up from around 3am every night. Head in overdrive from minute I wake.

Any advice lovely (tired) Fabbers?

Deal with issues where possible and avoid putting them off, a lot of anxiety is created by simply not dealing with something when it arises

Write down everything that is worrying you before going to bed

Take magnesium supplements or bathe in Epsom Salts

Avoid electronic devices at night

Make sure your room is the right temperature and totally dark

I go through periods of insomnia every few months. Could last 3 nights or could last up to a week or more.

It ain't pleasant.

As previously posted, it's most likely due to something lingering on your mind.

It might not be obvious so maybe try 10 - 20 minutes of meditation a day and see what pops up in your mind.

And remember, it will most likely pass.

Perhaps download an app like headspace from the interweb, it can be very soothing! I’d try that before going on supplements or anything, Whatever is bothering you, it may be temporary!

I gallantly offer my services as big spoon!

I find if you can burn though enough energy during the day you sleep uninterrupted. It's always a day where I've done very little that I'll have trouble with sleep.

Two slightly horrifying suggestions. Cut back on the coffee, none after lunch time. Second, try some exercise. A twenty minute walk around 7pm would help if you can’t think of anything more entertaining.

Healthy eating , cut out processed foods

Regular exercise

Magnesium supplement

Cut out or cut down on caffeine especially from afternoon onwards

Iron supplement get checked by doc first

Turn off phone and devices at least 2 hours before bed

melatonin supplement

Finally OP I would recommend seeing your GP about sleeping problems , things tend to get on top of you if you aren't sleeping well , resulting in worse sleep no shame in seeking help
