I'm not huge up on tv tech. I have the Tea tv app. If I want to watch series or films from that, I need to have a smart TV, yes? Is there any other way if you don't have smart TV ?

You can buy chromecast or firestick. Both only around €30. You just download app & connect to tv using usb

Chromecast doesn't work with all apps. You might need to download a plug in for it (say with Showbox).

You can buy a Chromecast which will plug into the HDMI port on your telly. Chromecast works best with Android phones, or from your laptop, the Chrome browser. You'll get one in the Google online store, Argos, Harvey Norman, Curry's - anywhere that sells tellys or tech.

Once you've set up your Chromecast (it's very easy - you just need a TV and wireless Internet access) you'll be able to link your phone, laptop and tablet to your telly and stream media from compatible apps like Netflix, YouTube, and also TeaTV (I checked!)

A Chromecast or other streaming device (Fire stick, android box / dodgy box, Apple TV, NOWTV stick) is a much better option than a Smart TV because all this tech is gonna go obsolete and it's easier to upgrade a small device than your whole telly!

Not USB but hdmi. If telly has hdmi then fine. Chromecast seeks Internet feed from your modem after teatv app instructs it to do so. After that you can turn phone off and still enjoy movie.

If your tv allows apps, try Smart IPTV. You need to be a little tech savvy to start but then it's a once off small fee for a lot of free stuff.

Also, Kodi is an excellent app, which works on an Xbox and you can use multiple different apps like Exodus to watch what you want.

These both require a bit of googling to get done but are worth it, if your internet is above 10mbps

IPTV has been shut down several times lately. iview is very good , you can get box and years subscription for €150. You get all the channels, films and tv series plus live footie and ppv. Message me OP if interested. The lad I get mine from is brilliant.

My TV can screen share with my laptop if they're on the same WiFi so that might be worth looking into

Just get a small htpc, get a seedbox in another country, join up to a memeber only torrent site, set up your seedbox to auto download the shows and films you want, transfer them to your htpc, and bing bang bosh.

Alternatively put a freenas pc in a room upstairs and put plex on it and have it host the the movies, and get a smart tv that can install the plex app.

Nah, just spend the money on a stick or chromecast. Far more versatile

Seed box? What is that?

Do you mean VPN?

I use Rarbg and get everything I want to watch downloaded, or else I use Exodus add on for Kodi on Xbox/pc and stream stuff from that
