I mailed a lady earlier, just putting in a little effort as I always do when sending a message.

She replied to me thanking me for my message, flattered that I took the time to read her profile, but politely declined to chat further.

I understand that you ladies have hundreds, if not thousands of mails in your inbox.......but if a guy does put in a little effort, have a think about replying even if it is just to say ‘thanks but no thanks.

Funnily enough I have had similar experience in last few days. Really do appreciate that they actually took the time to reply. I mailed back thanking them for the reply and wishing them luck.

Yes I replied too thanking the lady, I understand a guy not getting a reply if he is rude or vulgar or just being a general asshole!!!!

I reply to most mails not all. If someone cheats to get through my filters and or sends me a rude message I don't answer anymore. But then I have my filters pretty tight too so I don't get as many mails as others do.

Yes I have pretty tight filters though have to admit I rarely get any rude messages...just the very odd one.

I’ve had the same experience op the fact is you can’t be everybody’s cup of tea and due to the high volume men to women it’s hard to even engage in conversation never mind anything else,poor ladies get hundreds of mail but it’s only nice to get a reply manners cost nothing

We try to reply to any messages we receive even if it's just a thank you but not interested, unless it's a pushy or vulgar message with a sick pic attached

No one deserves a reply if they are being a gob-shite. Many of the horror messages I’ve heard that have been sent on here.....I wonder do those that send them actually want a reply, is it that they just get a perverse kick from shocking people.

While a thanks for the mail but not interested is nice to receive back after mailing someone

Not everyone takes the thanks but not interested that well no matter how nicely written.

Its either your plagued with constant mails as to why your not interested or ur the scum of the earth and abused to the highest because ur not.

U cant blame women or men for no replys in fairness.

Ya Im not sure myself reading back.

Basically this topic pops up all the time and its pointless. Site guidelines say no reply means no interest that should be enough for people.

Now to be fair your post was on the more sane and polite versions but it still gives the wrong impression that someone reading a profile and putting a bit of effort into a message is intitled to a reply

If someone really made an effort and read my profile they would (or should) know what to write to me. I set my profile up after being away for a while recently and for the best part all that I received was vulgar one liners.

I would reply if someone caught my eye and made a genuine effort.

This place is great for discussions and debate from all sides and people have made some great points but you could point facts out all night to why women don’t reply but just cause you send a message,unfortunately It doesn’t guarantee us a reply

Ahh yeah I get ya now

Certainly was not getting up on my soapbox to say that every lady should be compelled to reply to any half decent message they receive.....there would not be enough minutes in the day for them having to do that.

All I was doing was sharing and giving credit where credit was due.
