Haven't seen it yet but can't lie it will really have to be something extra extra special to better Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight ...he was absolutely brilliant ...

Probably the most complete performance be an actor in a role that I have ever seen. The movie is raw.... Edgy..... Disturbing..... Haunting.... It is not really a comic book story..... I would recommend everyone watches this movie.

I was blown away by the performance, the soundtrack, the cinematography...... Everything!!!!

Even tho its a dc movie the director took a new approach with the origin story and steered it away from the comic book version, great proformance by everyone involved in the movie to tell a great story.

I agree, great performance.

However, it's an origin story and a study of the progression of mental illness. NOT a typical comic book movie.

Heath Ledger would be more my idea of the best Joker.

Having said that, if they make a second movie with Joaquin Phoenix, I'm prepared to change my opinion, depending upon how its dine.

A brilliant movie but not one for anyone under 16, as per the certificate.

Totally agree with you! Joaquin Phoenix is the best actor to play Joker! I love him in the biography movie about Johnny Cash WALK the LINE and also in the GLADIATOR

My mum said it is a very sad story and definitely not for the teens under 16 years old. How the system treats some people and then what kind of impact it will be for their adult life: having an abusive mother was not a best thing what happened to Arthur. It isn't just a story tale. It might be a someone's real life

The Road to Nowhere

Oh I loved it. I'm a DC & Marvel fan and wasn't quite sure what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jocquain Pheonix played a blinder. I didn't think anything could top Heath Ledger but he's up there with him.

I hope that this is a stand alone movie..... I see it as more of that.

I think that Heath Ledger played the perfect COMIC book villain but this is not meant to be that. It is so very different.... In EVERY aspect really.

Yes, it is loosely based on a comic book character, but that is it. It charts the very disturbing descent of a real person that has had a troubled life that has left him both emotionally and mentally bereft. He has been beaten by supposed loved and trusted figures and then abandoned by his last true hope.... The system.

This shows what can happen to someone who, despite trying so very hard to make something of themselves, is fucked over every which way imaginable. There is that one straw too much for all of us.... Luckily most of us either never have to bear that load or if we do then we have support structures in place to help us....like family, friends, professional help etc.

Unfortunately he was one of those poor unlucky souls that do exist in society.

This film is not about entertainment for me.... It is an experience.... A raw, evocative, emotional, disturbing, sad experience but one that I truly every adult should embrace. We can all learn something from this and we all should.

That's my tuppence worth.

I haven't seen the film yet but really hoping it's as good as most people here say it is. Ledger was the best so far but it's a pitty Mark hamill didn't look abit more like the joker cause he does the best voice for the joker.

I wouldn't normally be one to get super into an actors performance or craft, but he is totally astonishing in this movie. Ive never been so gripped by, or invested in a character. I left the cinema wanting to start a fucking revolution! Haha. Dying to go see it again.
