Favourite words from around Ireland

Jump to newest

So as a result of a bit of banter on a forum post here it got me thinking

There’s so many words from around Ireland that outside of your county probably aren’t used

What’s your favourite??

Mine would have to be “langer” but it has to be said by a corkonian otherwise it just doesn’t work

Although it’s up there with asking someone from Louth to say starbar

Most of mine are insults. Gobshite. Gowl. Geebag. I don't have a particular fondness for the letter G, it just so happens that they all begin with G.

Langer is also good but I agree, needs to be said in a Cork accent.
