Accidental topless pic to parents What’sApp group

In work today and someone was showing us snapshots from an underage football teams parents WhatsApp group. I won’t mention the team but one of the female parents had sent an accidental topless photo of herself to the group. The person in work wasn’t associated so obviously it had gone viral.

They were in stitches laughing at work but perhaps because of being on FAB and having our own photos out in public I didn’t find it funny and was just absolutely mortified for the poor woman.

Is there a way to avoid this? Should we keep all the fun stuff to a separate chatting App even if we are just sending pics to our other half?

Would be interested to hear what people think?

I’ve seen this

My heart went out to the poor woman

And to make it worse she then tried to cover up what she had done by posting on her Facebook that her phone had been hacked

I don’t think she even tried to delete the pic as there was a few minutes between the pic and the next messages

Just shows you need to watch what you’re doing with grouptexts

Using Whatsapp is nuts,

For 1 it's linked to your phone no.

2 the pics save to device,

Yep nuts,

WhatsApp is the last app to use here

WhatsApp is crap for fab agreed... but husbands/wives/partners use it to communicate, and (shock horror) they send rude pics to each other. It's easy to do. Just gotta be careful!

It can easily happen with multiple WhatsApp groups going at the same time, I for one am guilty of sending the wrong message to the wrong group once or twice, especially after a few vinos

your imagination

I keep my 'Fab' photos locked in a speacial hidden folder on my phone so that I can show other people photos of family events etc., on my phone without worrying that my boobs are going to appear if they scroll too far, but have noticed when I'm sending an attachment on WhatsApp that even the contents of my hidden folders are available to send. I always double-check just to make sure I haven't accidentally attached anything I shouldn't have. But I really feel for this poor woman. I've heard of folk accidentally posting nudes or play pics to their Facebook profiles too. At least in her case it was in a closed parents' group and not to somewhere her entire family, friends, etc., would have seen it.

The poor woman.. I use the keepsafe app to hide any picture's in my phone but it has often nearly happened..that moment of panic when your pics flash across the top of your screen saying share to story

On WhatsApp though you can delete the pic or message on both ends so all traces of it are gone for good.

You can even do the same in Facebook messenger chats but you have to do it within a few minutes otherwise you can then only delete on your end.

Omg I really feel for this woman. Its an easy mistake to make. Its a pity that like snapchat the screenshot option isn't available on other chat Apps as it could prevent people from saving the photo as they would know that the original poster would know they saved it.

I’m terrified of KIk because the kids always have our phones. Had it before but it always ends up full of filth and it’s not worth the heart attack when your child is showing your mother in law something on your phone.

I use an App called Keeply for storing photos / videos - would highly recommended it

I have the same feature a private area on my phone accessed by a different code to my normal one. I just checked attaching on Whats app and only my pics and docs from that area of my phone is available and none of the ones from the other code the private area.

Pretty much anything stored on your phone can be got at unless the app is cloud storage based and password protected. I've used 3 different locking apps in the past and all have failed, all photos were lost. I always have backups ( lesson learned the hard way. But I find mega a really good alternative to most standard cloud storage apps. Store photos there, download what you want to share then delete off your phone.

We have become friendly enough with a few here to add them to WhatsApp but it's not that much trouble to switch to lol to share photos.

My phone thankfully has a whole different side to it... As in WhatsApp, fb, insta, normal photos are all there. The other side of the phone has its own albums and has fab, kik etc there. You can not access "normal" pics or apps from the private side and vice versa. Means I never have to worry about sending wrong pics or handing my phone to anyone.

I really feel for that woman

Horrible thing to happen to anyone but, like everything on the internet or WhatsApp she’ll be forgotten about totally in a day or two

We would use kik for private chat between us, different browser and password protected folder for pics to try avoid accidents or the dreaded scrolling too far!

"I use whatsapp, but I am not ashamed of any photos I have, or how I act."

It's not a question of shame. It's a question of appropriateness. I wouldn't like my family seeing some of the pics I have in my phone. It doesnt mean I'm ashamed. Its just not appropriate for them to see them.

Years ago I was living with a girlfriend, being a naughty boy was seeing another girl, told the girlfriend I was heading to the office, stepped out the front door and text the other lady "I'm on route, I want you on all fours when I walk in ready for cock" and text it to my girlfriend, panic sets in, do I throw the phone away, what do I do, stuck it on silent, headed home to face the music, walk in the front door and hear a familiar noise, it was the shower, crept upstairs, deleted the text and away out the door, I had great sex that evening, lucky lucky escape

I use a secure app for noodz but there's always the times when you forget that you've copied them out to send them and you end up with your boobs at the top of your Google Photos

I've never accidentally sent nudes to someone inappropriate, thank god - definitely feel for this poor woman! It's so easily done.

This genuinely frightens the life out of me. I'm a divil for sending videos, much worse than pictures. And every now and again I imagine what it would be like if one went viral. It instantly sends me into a existential crises for days.

But sure look. When you're horny, you're horny.

I think you only have a specific time frame to delete for both.

Same. I dont mind at all really. I kinda like the idea of the little government fella, suited and booted sitting at his government desk, hiding his stiffy from looking at ms filthy.

We use a play phone for fab related stuff. Takes all the headaches out of WhatsApp Kik etc

Surprised so many seem to use their every day personal phones for fab related contact.

Isn't that reason enough for everyone to return to Viber

The sheer panic that came over me when I realized about 20 ppl where in the group ...I actually thought I could not go to the running club any more !

Turned out that I had posted it to another group with only two other female members and I got myself out of it .. but lesson learned so easy to do .

Once I was searching for a file on my work PC and a nudey pic of me popped up, I must have connected it to charge sometime and it must have pulled all the pics off. Thankfully noone was around, scrubbed the hard drive and moved away from Apple, they try to do everything automatically for you. Use Samsung Secure Folder now so it's technically not even stored on the same OS.
