If I grabbed 10 random guys off the street or the pub, 5 of them could match Guy Garvey.

I don't understand the adoration that they receive

They don't deserve the plaudits, in my opinion.

I was expecting something spectacular on Graham Norton and saw nothing more than a pub band!

Yes, if you actually listen to what Guy Garvey does, I still reckon a few random lads could sing it.

The songwriting and musical arrangements are a completely betteter, separate entity and elevate the whole experience.

I'm just saying his voice is nothing special.

Finally, someone else who has seen them for the bores they are.

I saw them at Slane, woeful. If they come on the radio I just

switch off. Glad I missed GN now.

not my cup of tea. never understood why people like them at all but they do so let them on. like everything in the world they appeal to some people and not to others.
