I was lucky enough to be at the premiere of the joker last night and I have to say it was outstanding . Joaquin Phoenix will defo get the oscar for it . Be interesting to see which joker people find better this one or Heath ledgers . I personally didn't think it was possible but I have to say I think this new one is darker , grittier more violent and the whole delving into his mental health issues and origins was brilliant and Phoenix's performance was top class.

as much as we love comic book movies we are torn with this one for a few reasons. have heard it's great and one of the best versions of joker to date but the whole rewriting of his origin once again doesn't sit well with us.

I have to say I think this is the first time that there is a proper in dept look at his origin and how he turned out the way he did. I personally loved it. Great film

Tyrone, Ireland

Seen it this morning. Close the betting on the Best Actor Oscar....I’d be amazed if he doesn’t win it.

The Town by The Cross

Don't go expecting comic book bash pow zap....... this film is a gritty reality. It's a parable of society and it's treatment of the vulnerable.

Joaquin is phenomenal as a desperate but out of touch and - sadly - an unlikeable Arthur Fleck......

It's still in my head..... both visually and emotionally.

No..I have seen the trailers...he takes it up another stage from where Heath Ledger left the character...Phoenix gives it that uncomfortable edge

Seen a meme during the week, that summed up the joker of modern times...

90's: Drop him into a bath of acme acid.

Present day: Drop him into society.

Really made you think.

It's a movie and it's an adaptation not a comic book, changes are allowed

Agreed

Great social commentary

Look out for the time on the clock, the music as Joker goes down the steps, the political factions represented
