Does anybody know the best hotels in Dublin for having 'guests' over. I'm thinking location and privacy.

You know not one that they're going to be quizzed at the entrance for room numbers and names but you still have privacy. Located in or near the city centre I suppose is best.

Stay city

There are apartments. Some just past Christ church too , heading toward James gate on left

Clayton at leopardstown is nice and private.

Also the citywest is very open and convenient in terms of getting larger numbers to a room. You are not even noticed in the place with vast layout

Dublin west

Croke park hotel. Lifts not in view of the reception desk.

Any of the airport hotels good for a meet as they have people coming and going all hours of the day or night.

Leopardstown hotel lifts not in reception

Just keep your head up and be confident and nobody will bat an eyelid. They don't care once you not causing any issues.

Citywest is awful, it's the equivalent of a Macdonald's in hotel terms. Dreadful.

I never had issues in any hotel taking someone to the room. Non of their business.

May I just bring a touch of reality to this...

The number of people who are using a hotel bedroom is very much a core part of a hotel's business. It's what their entire business is based on and how they make their money.

Now they may turn a blind eye but you cannot argue that it's none of their business.

You're being a smartie pants today?

Nowadays most hotel rooms come to a set price, doesn't matter if you're single occupancy or not, breakfast comes at extra cost per person.

But just to play along with you If I book a double room for two I can have one other person with me in the room, no where it says that this person has to be the same in the evening then the one in the morning. If I book a 3bed bedroom ...

I'm not being smart at all.. Seriously, if hotels allowed all their guests to bring in as many people as they want sure they'd make no money at all, plus if there was an emergency evacuation they wouldn't have a clue who was in or out. For safety reasons they usually also want to know the names of the people in their rooms and they'll usually state maximum occupancy numbers for each room type.

Don’t you need a room key to use the lift in Ashling (was the case my last meet there)? No issue if you are meeting someone in the lobby and bring them up, but it would be difficult for visitors to go directly to the room.

Some places want the names of all the guests and will ID them

Thanks guys, some good info there. I just ask because most places that I have stayed do ask if arriving back into the hotel late. I'm familiar with the lifts in the Croke Park hotel going straight up to the rooms from the car park once you have a room card so that could he a go'er.

Stayed there in 2016 and met a few.

I don't really remember but being a TV and not to be seen in public, I know for sure I didn't go down to the lobby to get them.

I think maybe the key card was for the security door of each floor (between the lift and the entrance to the corridor).

Do you not need a room card to get to the lifts? Fine if it's a drink beforehand but not an option if he just wants people to turn up to the room.
