Why mark a message unread!!

First time poster, just interested to know ladies (or lads for that matter), after reading a message and then, why mark it as unread??

I would have thought that if the initial message sent was read and not replied to the sender is given the indication that the receiver has no interest.

I do it if I can't be arsed to reply immediately, leaving it unread is better than leaving it read and having the person thinking they're being ignored.

I do it if I plan on replying later on and I don't have time there and then to reply. And then it also doesn't get deleted as I delete read messages.

Hell

If I dont want to reply immediately or dont want the hassle of someone getting bitchy because I deleted their messages. I usually block the guys I never want to speak to but I used to delete whenever I wasnt interested and I'd either get hate mail or be the subject of a forum/status post about how awful "some women" here are.
