I thought she looked mad.

What annoyed me more though was all the chat about Rainy Night in Soho and then she sang Nothing Compares.

Would have been much more interesting to hear her doing Rainy Night.

Don’t worry it’s a bit sad that The Late Late was even a part of my Friday night. Getting old I think, my gang bang fell through

The Good:

Great voice.

The Bad:

She’s 24 carat nuts. Catholic priest one week, Muslim the next. Grabbing headlines by spouting barking nonsense year-in-year-out. Living off a cover copy single released nearly 30 years ago.

Don't think she's grabbing headlines and at least she's studied everything she talks about. Have you ever seen her lose a debating conversation about a topic she's interested in?

She's a very well educated woman in the subjects she's into.

Listen to her chat with Barry Egan on Newstalk podcast and you might change your opinion.

She has clearly called out that she's 52 and can't hit the same notes, so has had to adjust her songs accordingly.

Still a great voice.

I loved her reggae stuff a few years ago

I won’t be changing my opinion. A great voice but totally bonkers. She’s fully committed to a particular belief ... right up to the time when she changes her mind and decides to be fully committed to something completely different.

I hesitate to use the word crazy, she admits to having proper mental health issues which have been properly medically diagnosed. So while I'm not a fan I can appreciate the work she puts in to her craft, and when she does occasionally have an issue, its publically dissected, I feel for that her episodes are publically dissected and discussed. At the end of the day she's a human being with problems who deserve support even if you dont support her as an artist. Sorry but that's my feelings about her.

Watch it back.

She actually said she likes taking different bits from different beliefs. Found that Muslim/Islam is the one that let's her combine.

I'm not arguing as I believe that everyone should pick and choose their own/ believe what they want.

Belief is very plastic, most modern religions did the very same thing, took bits of other religions and mashed them together. Zen, tau and buddhism are all similar and a mish mash, Roman gods, and paganism rituals are 70 percent of catholic history.

Yup, she certainly flips from one faith to the next ..... Catholicism (aka Mother Bernadette Mary), then Rastafarian and now Islam (aka Shuhada’ Davitt). All of which she swore undying belief in. Tune in next week when it’ll be something different. I’ve nothing personal against Sinéad (she lived up the road from me for years & years) .... great voice as I’ve said. But she’s as mad as a box of grogs.

Plastic?

If you check it back, you'll find Catholic actually used and melded a lot of the pagan rituals/ceremonies/celebrations so they could get more people on board.

Never mind the fact fish on a friday was because the catholic church owned fishing fleet were losing money

Seriously investigate anything you believe in.

You'll end up giving a lot of the modern stuff 2 fingers if you really dig deep.

By modern, I mean anything less than 3000yrs old.

Then you'll realise believing in yourself is a much more rewarding experience
