Go to the doc for a course of treatment..

low dose antibiotics are one route and possibly roaccutane if it’s bad.

But be carful with roaccutane it can cause depression in males.

So Doc is the best advice... over skincare advice any day.

Get to a skin specialist if it bad. Maybe even a few facials might help

There's absolutely no need for him to be embarrassed, people with any cop on would see past his acne on a meet. But yes seek out a good skin specialist. Best of luck x

Get him to a dermatologist and started on a course of treatment. My daughter had it and we tried everything, escalating from all sorts of recommended skincare regimes, to topical medication, the pill and eventually roaccutane (sp). It took the full 6 months to work but it was the best thing we ever did. You are monitored really closely nowadays when on it with monthly blood tests and doctors apps.

Okay I got this messsge from him

I did see a doctor an he said it was an allergic redaction to something he gave me a course of medications it done noting whats so ever. That was 2 months ago hun if anything it got worse and its just my back an front of my chest. No where else is affected. I have got 2 sets of antibiotics one was for an infection on my gum a while back but that cleared up in 2 days so didn't take it. But its called flagvl 400mg and the other Amoclav 500mg cant remember why the doctor put me on the Amoclav lol so I am thinking of just taking either or one of them see does it help even. Thanks for posting for your a star

Anything with salicylic acid & a moisturiser that suits his skin type.

The salicylic acid will bring out the spots that are hiding under the skin, so it does get worse for a short time but then it gets better.

Avoid the temptation to pop them!

There's me assuming its on his face. Sorry! Would there be some kind or medicated shower gel? Avoid scrubby loofahs, they'll just spread it around.

Amoclav or Metronidazole wouldnt be the best for acne. Antibiotics such as tetracycline or clindamycin are usually prescribed for skin problems/infections.

I would also really recommend a skin specialist. Treatments such as peels and light therapy have been proven to work really well.

Another thing is to review diet. I had a hormonal problem in my late 20s and as a result developed the worst skin I've ever have, worse than my teens. An endocrinologist was able to help greatly and my skin has never been better now, coupled with using the correct skincare products. But I mention diet because a lot of the time if something like pre diabetes is going undiagnosed it can manifest in different ways and acne can be one of them.

If your friend has been going through a particularly stressful time either this could also be a cause

The Skin Nerd has had great success with acne. He could book an online consultation with them.

If it's an allergic reaction like his doctor said. He needs to find the cause. He needs to see a dermatologist but he needs to go to his doctor again to let him know it hasn't cleared up. Also victim D supplement along with zink will help but he needs to get to the root of the cause.

No points trying to fix it without the cause being known.

A family member of mine had it in the past and had to use sunbeds in tallaght hospital twice a week along with the ointment.

Ask doc for acne medication it really helps. If it is a reaction to something maybe try a bath in Epsom salts. Tea tree is excellent as well

Did he shave/wax/veet his chest? If so it could be folliculitis. This is an infection of the hair follicle. It’s a bugger to clear up. You have to be religious with your skin care after.

Like it’s been said cleansers with salicylic acid are great at clearing out the bacteria in the follicle. You still need to use a light moisturiser to keep the skin supple.

But honestly, without seeing the skin and how it’s currently looking I’d just suggest you (mr) go back to the doc and take (all) of whatever they give you. Ask for a referral to a dermatologist.

(Btw I’m a qualified skin therapist with extensive post qualification training in skin various skin conditions)

He needs to see a dermatologist if it’s not clearing. I know someone who had really bad acne and saw a dermatologist who gave them them something I can’t remember the name started with R though. I worked wonders. It’s not nice when something physical effects yourself confidence so badly as we all no. I wish him well!

Basically there is no one treatment. They will have to try a bunch.

For one person, simply killing the bacteria fixes it. For others it does nothing.

With most skin things, you just have to try everything, and know just cause it didnt work for you does not mean it did not work for someone else.

Id start by using apple cider vinegar applied to the skin, as it balances the ph, kills bacteria and fungus, and leaves some nutrients on the skin for "good" bacteria. In essence it helps to restore a natural balance.

Id combine with a spot soap, and maybe a sun bed.

Id also look into doing an internal detox. Something that allows you to build up a natural balance of bacteria inside you. Often anti bacteria medication wipes out everything inside you which can lead to imbalance. Its thought that putting bacteria back into people will be a multi billion dollar industry in the future. They have shown putting a healthy persons poo into another persons bum actually heals a staggering array of conditions.

With this in mid, after antibiotics go onto organic veg, and stuff like yogurts etc.

You could do all this, detox your insides, get healthy balance in there, repair your skin ph and have it as clean as possible from bacteria, after a course of anti bacteria medication to kill all bacteria and still have the problem.

This is normally when people are put on the strong medication that
