I've noticed a lot of profiles with VERY specific dos and don'ts when messaging... As well as listing detailed requirements from a prospective meet...

Am I doing this all wrong? Should we all be more explicit with our tastes/types/turnoffs?

Suppose its easier for some that do read profiles if the person is going suit them or not when they read the profile

But in many cases they do not read .

Everyone to their own at the end of the day

Well I guess the more specific the profile the better the chance of meeting like with like and since so many on here less time wasted trying to find out. But i know what you mean about the endless reams of do's and dont's can be a bit of a turn off

To be honest a very cold profile with long do's and donts or overly negitive profile will put me off sending a mail although I am sure those women just about survive, but they might put off other perspective meets.

Also the people that ignore the massive lists and requests in a profile are usually the type of people you are trying to avoid using them so not sure they work as a filter

I think it’s a good idea to give people an idea of what you like but from what I’ve observed, profiles that contain a lot of negativity seem to attract negative messages.

Plus a lot of people don’t read profiles so what’s the feckin point

The more details the better (when people bother to read it)

Really?

Turns into an essay then in my opinion. Major turn off.

Doesn't have to be an essay. You can be detailed without it being like one.

You get people with no text. Some with a sentence, then you've got the ones that would give War and peace a run for it's money.

Some like detailed others don't. You hear enough complaints on the forums about people not putting effort into their profile.

I like when there's just a good balance, with aome sort of outline of who someone does/doesn't want to hear from. I can't be arsed reading 15 lengthy paragraphs.

Was only thinking today of deleting my profile text completely today as no one reads it anyway
