Stuart Lee, Lee Evans, Al Murray, literally anyone from Hardy Bucks, anyone from Big Bang Theory.

On a positive note, I love Russell Howard, Bill Bailey, Matt Berry.

I stand to be corrected now but has there been any new fresh stand up comedians on the circut here in eire that you would rush out to book tickets to. Also think the young people out there dont get stand up stuff

And I have been a massive fan of tommy tiernan down the years. Been to many of his live shows. Unfortunately some of shows have been hit and miss re genius funny. Feel it all depends on the venue, the audience, his mood, and topics news wise on the day.

Victoria Wood was amazing. Also love Jo Brand, Sandy Toksvig, Sue Perkins. And then there are writers like Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jane Goldman, super talented, funny women.

99% of them are NOT even slightly funny in any way shape or form.

The audience will laugh at any old shite just because everyone else is laughing which is more laughable than the actual stupid joke.

Comedy is a subjective thing. There are comedians that I love whom I've found to be unfunny at one time and hilarious at other times. I despise Jason Byrne yet saw him one night along with a number of other comedians and thought he was hilarious. Context is everything.

I think part of it is to do with set and setting also.

People know they're seeing an established comedian so they expect that he or she is funny and they'll gladly laugh along with the jokes.

There's a reason people are referred to as sheep at times

Des Bishop is American. He moved over here years ago and even became fluent in Irish. Why would he just be putting on an American accent?!
