Yeah, it's an interesting idea.

Drop kids off at 9, an hour or two of fun and home to make the linches/dinner

Often not worth the effort anyways

Oh! What am I saying!

A furtive fumble is always fun though often cut short by park wardens

Oil! OP where is this venue for morning shenanigans?

The reason why it's moved to tickets it's because people drop out last minute or just don't turn up and organisers are left covering the cost. Tickets don't make it any more commercial than paying cash to attend.

Yeah I get that , but don't you think it has got alittle bit more commercial with the establishment of permanent venues , pod casts , knickers being bought and sold or are we seeing the second coming of the sexual revolution

Nah... We're just slowly catching up with other countries. In the UK and on the continent clubs are open all day every day... Not just for a few hours once or twice a month. You can pop in whenever it suits you, not have to organise time off, sitters, excuses, etc., to attend something that's on or open at a time that doesn't actually suit and you have to reorganise your life in order to attend. I don't know if the time will ever come that we do actually fully catch up with everywhere else.... But it's good that people have more options

I think day time / all day parties are a great idea. And the reasoning behind tickets is a well thought out and justified reason.

As why should the organizer/s be out of pocket for no shows. I'm sure some already are losing a bit due to time and effort already.
