No proper system in place for immigrants. If people want to come to this country and participate and work in this country good on them , give them the opportunity but this thing of putting them in provision centres, segregated etc doesn't help but on other hand we know nothing about their back ground especially criminal.

Refugees trying to get to Europe are being held in prison like camps in Libya, enslaved and captains of Mediterranean rescue vessels are threatened with severe prison sentences if they try to get onto Italian shores respectively the vessels are refused to enter Italian ports. How does that make us any better than the US?

Its known that the provision centers are not working. Currently a Canadian model of community lead sponsership is being trial by the revelant Dept. It seems a more humane way of doing things. On the other side knowing our governments history of not doing good due diligence can we be sure that proper background checks are being carried out.

Funny few comments on immigrants on the thread. I don't think anyone has any major issues with immigration. You want to come here. Come along. There is a legal process on how to do that. The problem is not with people immigrating legally. It's the ones that are arriving illegally. Why should illegal migrants be welcomed. I am all for legal migration but i have zero sympathy for people doing it illegally. There are reasons why we have laws and reasons why migrants have criteria to enable entry.

Seriously??

Even my (third world) country MRI waiting list is not that long. Maybe the indication requires it to be in that particular date?

Apparently it's the normal waiting time for an MRI. Meanwhile my issue progressively deteriorates."

Want to hear something crazy? There's a MRI machine sitting in the Trinity campus that's only used once or twice a day for addiction studies. The guy over said study offered it to HSE for use when they weren't using it. The HSE refused the offer
