We've had the complaints about not being in the clique and being ignored by clique members... So let's corral up all these terrible clique members and give them their own thread so they're not bothering anyone!

I'm a regular forum poster with a tendency to reply more to and flirt more with friends (how very dare I!! The cheek of it!!) than complete strangers or people I haven't already got a rapport with, so I'm guessing I'm viewed as being a clique member.

Anyone else feel that they may (rightly or wrongly) belong on this thread?

Do you suspect you may be in the clique?

The only way to find out is to ask someone who isn't in it as they seem to decide who is. It's complicated.

I think we'd have to know who the head of the clique is in order to do that... Awkward!!! Maybe if we just wait here one of the senior clique members will explain the rules...?

No need of friends. Its because at times I find the forums enjoyable and some people have a great sense of humour and funny stories. The antics some have gotten up too are hilarios. Like when Ashnbash when camping. She was a very very funny lady. Over the years have actually got a few meets from the forums too! Win win!

The thing about thread interaction is, it's necessary. Good or bad... If everyone was to wake up in the morning and say to themselves 'right, I'm going to post 1 thread. I will only interact with people who join me on my thread. I will not post on anyone else's threads. That way I can't possibly offend anybody.', that would be the end of the forums. Hundreds of threads started but nobody replying. If people don't get along... Just avoid interaction with each other (in fact if you're blocked by someone it's against site rules to circumvent a block by interacting on the forums). If people do get along they will gravitate towards each other and are more likely to reply to each other's comments.

As Michael already pointed out, it seems that the only people who know for sure who is in the clique are those who feel they are marginalised, for whatever reason. Like myself, I think most regular posters are never quite sure whether they're seen as being cliquish or not.

The first rule of the CLIQUE is: You do not talk about the CLIQUE.

The second rule of the CLIQUE is: You do not talk about the CLIQUE.

Third rule of the CLIQUE: Someone yells "Stop!", goes limp, taps out, the play is over.

Fourth rule: Only CLIQUE members decide who joins the CLIQUE

But I know that I do tend to reply to those I chat with more often on the forums and have a little flirt.... So I admit that it's entirely possible I might seem cliquish... It's not intentional though.

"Oh oh please please can I collect the application forms? I promise I won't share or laugh at the contents and I'll keep them safe until we find the founder of the clique. And yes shlong go have an MRI.

Cool... That's that sorted... Shall I boil the kettle and open the hobnobs (they seem like a vaguely cliquish snack)?

Love a cuppa now. I'll just have a banana though. Dieting ya know."

Can I get mine delievered to the MRI placey thing.....

"Interesting clichés used. I'm guessing some have a greater understanding than they wish to let on. "

No matter where you go or what you do in life there will always be the perception of cliques or inner circles... I've been told on numerous occasions that I'm a member of various cliques, and also been told that I'm not a member of the same cliques by other people... So I conclude that the perceptions of cliques exist with a kind of schroedinger's membership... Nobody can definitively tell you if you're in one or not, least of all yourself.
