It's happening... and there's one near you!!

BELFAST, DUBLIN, WEXFORD, CORK, GALWAY and ATHLONE are the venues for the first ever simultaneous Fab Ladies' Lunch.

If you're interested in coming along, mail the organiser for the location best suited to you, and get your name down (please put Fab Ladies Lunch in the subject box when mailing, as the ladies, understandably, get a lot of mail and don't want to miss yours!). No charge... Just pay for your own lunch on the day! It will be somewhere cheap and cheerful, and hopefully with lots of giggles and a chance to make new friends

That's the idea Gingerrr while kids are at school, or when on lunch breaks from work, just a girly get-together midweek to say hi and relax for an hour. Obviously if some wish to take the afternoon off and keep it going, they're more than welcome to do so, but the intention was that people could just pop along at lunch time when it's less likely that childcare needs to be organised as most things seem to happen at night or on weekends.

Hi Folks... I've had the same question from a couple of the organisers and some people enquiring about the guestlist...

This is a ladies only event and (with each individual host's approval, of course) includes trans ladies and cds... However I would ask that all attending do so in their female persona! It is a girly lunch after all!!

I'm really sorry that it doesn't suit everyone.. But the reason I picked a midweek day was because I see so many posts on the forums about things always being on at the weekend and it being so awkward/expensive to organise childcare, etc., the idea behind the lunch was that kids would be at school or already in creche, and even working mums could pop along on their lunch break if they were close enough. I realise that's not possible for those who have to travel any distance to attend (which is why we ended up with doing the lunch in 6 different venues here in Ireland and more in the UK ~ I think in parts of London the ladies are just bringing their own packed lunches to a local Park and meeting up on their lunch break!), and am delighted to see that many have decided to take the afternoon off work to attend and give themselves a little much deserved 'me' time after a hectic summer...

There are lots of events on every weekend around the country, and if you're looking for a daytime one, Classy Lady is organising a weekend coffee morning in September (see her thread for details)... That might suit you!

Hopefully if the lunch bunch enjoy the 13th we can make it a regular thing

Kik groups can be absolutely class when you have a good decent bunch in them wouldn't do one for a big event tho as it's way harder to manage

I only took filters off until the message from the lady came through and put them straight back up. But I've never gotten messages in the hundreds on any one day.

Happens whenever I upload a new photo... Just goes with the territory. I usually have my filters closed though so I don't get inundated. I haven't uploaded one today, so I've only had 5 new messages so far

Oh, I've my filters off most of the time. Been two solid weeks with no filters. Only filter I ever put on is when too many over 47s message me in a row. But then nobody ever messages me once I put them up
