I’ve been on fab before and back again, not much has changed, it seems to be more of a click thing going on now, especially in Forums. If people don’t have a number of public photos, they are most likely going to be ignored. What’s everyone’s opinion on this?

I think if you have interesting opinions or can make people laugh most on here will interact.

There is always naturally going to be an element of flirtation where people might respond more to profiles they find attractive due to the nature of the site.

But an engaging personality will come across eventually with or without public photos

While there are cliques in every walk of life I think here it has more to do with profiles people are attracted to ( as SSS has said) or even that some people know each other from outside of here and that makes them naturally speak to each other.

It happens in everyday life and it happens in here up to a point but then it's because people have chatted on here so feel like they can bounce off each other more easily (probably not the best phrase to use on here) and the other person won't take offense It's not a big deal really. I like to chat anyhow so I chat with anyone in here who chats with me. There is always going to be the more out going personalities and threads people find more interesting. It all makes intersesting reading anyhow.

Its probably because a lot of them know each other and post regularly so its easier. My advice would be to post away if you feel like saying something.

The vast majority of people here dont participate in the forums but a lot read them.

Someone who likes the look of you or what you say may contact you directly you never know. I have had several interesting chats after posting on a topic and someone messsages me directly to say something about it. It can be a conversation opener for them.

I think both can go hand in hand... plenty threads break off into 3 or 4 separate tangents.

It would be a very dull forum without the humor to break up the more serious parts.

I agree there needs to be a balance to it all though

There is thousands on Fab, so naturally you will have some sort of ‘clique’ element. However you have to remember OP, that a lot of people go to parties and M&G’s, so they will get to know one another through them. The forums are an extension of that. Yes you will get one or two smart arses that hijack a thread but such is life, as in life.

I think tangents among people are fine, people having their own joke is fine.

I think what kills threads is a strong view against someones opinion, represented in a personal attack on that person.

This rarely happens in tangents, it usually happens by people staying 100% on topic. I mostly think it happens by mistake too, mostly.

I have been thinking the same as the op for the last week or so. Depending on my mood I'll post more or less. But I have noticed in the last while every thrend is headed up by the same 5 or 6 people. It has got boring and the back slapping has got sad. It's rare you see robust comments on here anymore without those 5 or 6 backing each other up on everything

I'm totally guilty of going off on tangents... But I'll usually realise I'm derailing a topic and either take it to pm or set up a new thread to discuss my mind-worm if I can't or don't want to get back to the original topic.

Just ignore the comments or people you don't like. I know my comments are regularly ignored or passed over and correctly so a lot of the time as I'm guilty of posting to pass some time. But sometimes a good debate can ensue which I enjoy until people get mean and personal. Then I'm out. No need for that. I'm here almost 9 years and it's always been the same. It goes in cycles.

You remind me sometimes of kids i work with who consequently say no to everything or just being smartie pants. My trick is normally to tell them there's no harm to enjoy themselves and join in. It normally works wonders.

You're just as entitled to give your view and your opinions as anyone else, but I do think it unfair to brand any men who don't share your view doormats. Viewpoints are rarely completely gender biased. You and I have long agreed that we have different perspectives in what we want from Fab but that hasn't prevented us from having conversations, discussions and debates, from laughing about our differences and occasionally finding common ground. I respect your choices and your honesty, but that doesn't mean that those who make different choices or say different things are being dishonest. It's just them expressing their right to view their opinions too

Tbh, it’s a personal thing, I find most will interact, as for the click thing, if you take your time and get to know most people they will respond positively!

Me personally, I long to find certain persons on fab, I will naturally message them just to say hi and see where it goes!!

No rush, no expectations, it’s important to get to know people, and as always women especially and couples are inundated with messages, can be a nightmare to sort through them,

Hey u lot I'm new I set profile a while back n come in once n left as wasn't sure a very good friend recommended me to give it ago again n I have now in saying that I'm here about a month n still finding my feet but I tryed the message thing sorry ladies it's hard to get a hi but I also understand the ratios senario n I get that now in saying that I decided to come here maybe the best thing as most I've now chatted have been so nice n nothing but frienday I don't care with much about cliques but look were irish people most of us I n I solely think we're one of the best people on the planet to integrate with others but if u cant get involved n say something or have a voice u will go unnoticed unless uve a cracking body n killer legs sorry ladies but u all do hey it is what it is but in saying that anybody I've spoken with seem really nice n hey just open your mouth as if u don't talk u won't be noticed

I don't see a click, I just see personalities that have more in common than others and sometimes cluster their opinions together, it's a bit like the real world really if you want to be opinionated constantly, be that way, but don't expect people to think your not a pain in the hole from time to time

I'm like minded with alot of people but we don't agree on everything. For eg, I could have a friend, he might say something, I won't agree just cause he's a friend and were like minded on alot of things. If you come in here in general and state facts, they might be negative facts but you're frowned upon, again for eg, are some women on a pedestal on here, heads swelled from attention they receive? Of course they are, only a fool would say otherwise but if this was said on a forum post some people would lose their shit. You often see on the forum "oh I'm getting fancy a fuck mail"? Are you surprised? You're on the internet for crying out loud where you have an array of men. You're gonna get all sorts of mail. I have never once on fab sent a fancy a fuck mail but I do speak my mind on the forum on don't roe in behind to what the norm is.
