I was looking to do a similar trip, just didn’t get around to it, too easily distracted.

I planned on going to Donegal first, then to Malin Head. From here head west along the north coast. Some of the spots that were recommended to me were

Murlough Bay

Dark Hedges

Carrick a Rede rope bridge

Fairhead

Ballycastle

The Open golf major is on this month too in Portrush

Hope some of these help.

Any on Waterloo st if your after a traditional pub, blackbird on Foyle street for some good cocktails!

Food wise. Most are good altho the exchange in the city centre is great. Can be busy and they don’t take bookings tho.

Quick taxi to the waterside and the sooty olive is also very nice.

Have fun

Donwgal as it's amazing scenery you'll need more than a weekend. Use letterkenny as your base and send me your hotel room number

Doesn't need to be liberal. Just want somewhere with live music and feel safe as will be on my own.

Donegal wise Letterkenny is a good base to stay for bars and restaurants.

Sightseeing Glenviegh National Park, Sliebh League cliffs, Dunree Fort, Glencolmkille village, An Grainan Aileagh, Fanad Lighthouse, Mount Errigal, Donegal Castle abs Errigal Arts Festival on this month is various locations in Donegal and the inaugural Letterkenny Jazz and Blues Festival is on too.

Not forgetting the dozens of amazing beaches surrounding is.

Your welcome to message us about the exact type of trip your looking for and we can make further recommendations to you.

Traditional Irish music be in Peadar O’Donnells, the gor next door will have live music also.

Other live music bars the taphouse, the dungloe & the blackbird(as far as I know all day sat/sun)

Can’t go wrong in any of those bars

The Exchange is brilliant for food Steph... go early though as you can't prebook. As for bars... I'm not so sure but you could always get a taxi to Strabane!

If you get to Belfast book a taxi tour around the city

Well worth it .

Also avoid 12 July

It'll be manic up there and really busy

Did the invite get taken up to travel as a pair...

You do realise everyone will be wanting updates on where you've been... And what siggestions you took on board...

Though it would be interesting to know where you're going it may be best if we only find out where you went...

(you know what I think there could be a song in that last sentence.. Something to work on)
