Any EMT’s out there, Iv just done my EFR & deciding whether to go for EMT, I’m judging towards yes but would it be better to go private or do it with a volunteer organisation?

Hi Chocoholic, I'm an EMT and weather or not you do it depends on a few things. 1, why are you doing it? Is it purely as a self development thing or are you planning on working in the sector? If your doing it for self development then it maybe difficult to maintain it once you have it as you may not get the exposure to the incidences you need to keep phecc happy. 2, if you're doing it for possibly working in the sector then it would have to pretty much go hand in hand with a full clean category C1 and D1 driving license or most places won't look at you for employment. 3, should you be thinking of the volenteery route to achieving this, you would probably have to be an active part of that organisation for quite some time I'd imagine, before they would consider putting you forward. Possibly up to 4years???
