So a none fabbette (yes I'm positive she's not on here) had been in touch to call for a bit of fun, now I remember last time wed met that her breath wasn't the freshest of breaths so brought my trusted blue extra, she kindly declined and as I suspected the breath was awful again. Kissing is a big part of sex for me but I just could not continue anymore, she noticed this and I tried to make the excuse I had a cold sore but she didn't buy it, I got my clothes on and left after a few minor cross words.

I know a few from here consider me an arrogant asshole at times and maybe so but I do care about other people's feelings.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and would you tell her the truth or make up a little white lie?

I would be the same.. just couldn’t kiss if the breath was terrible.

Was it rotten teeth or a smokers mouth?

I’m not sure how you’d get past it tbh without possibly insulting her.

I couldn't continue if the guy had bad breath. Kissing is too important as part of a meet

on the hill NordWest of

I remember swapping chewing gums while kissing when I was in my teens. You should have passed on yours.

On a serious note would you not say that not telling the truth probably hurt her feelings too as she obviously sensed that you're making excuses. You both missed out on a bit of fun because you didn't have the balls to address the problem.

what girl likes to be told her breath stinks? It's nothing to do with having the balls to tell her, I could have said yea ur breaths pretty bad and embarrassed the girl so I chose not to, you don't need to have balls to embarrass someone, it wasn't going any further so I chose to lie since I was leaving anyway but I understand youd rather be told the truth, I myself on that occasion didn't think it was 100% necessary.

Tell her! You don't have to make it sound like a big deal. Do it in a jokey way... Lean in, pull back, and say 'wtf have you been eating?' or 'been at the garlic, have you?', but do it with a laugh and offer her gum again.

You haven't said what the problem is, but tbh, if I was in your shoes, and it was that bad the first time, I wouldn't have been able to power through, let alone go back a second time.

It’s funny isn’t it..... you’d ask a woman if she likes anal before you’d tell her her breath smells..... and by “you” I mean me as well....

I’ve had it ruin one meet myself.... but I also know some people professionally who have bad breath and it’s noticeable at conversation distance.... it’s awful and they deserve to know but.... how to tell them.....

maybe it’s back to the anonymous letters

iv met smokers before and never had any problems no different from none smokers, I suppose everyone's different but if that was the 2nd time in

Months then surely someone with balls is bound to have said something about it by now, either that or she knew

To be honest... I would say ... I am honest and upfront... if something is bothering me I will say ... bad breath ...bad hygiene...

Last boyfriend I told him I couldn't give him bjs as his penis stank. He got very upset.Told him I am sorry and he should do something about it,but I have his penis in my mouth,so no thanks.

Made me gag and not in a good sexy way.

it doesn't matter wat I should have said or could have said it was a put off and yea I went back the 2nd time because sometimes these things can be a one off , I chose to give the that respect she deserved and chose to tell her a lie, again because I was leaving anyway so wasn't any point embarrassing her or make things any worse. Love the way the only thing being mentioned is me telling her something that wouldn't embarrass her, im sure if i had wrote i told her that her breath was bad it would be the other way round with some people on here

I (Andy) would have just told the girl about her breath, though I'm prob a bit more direct than most folk.

How many more occasions will people just make another excuse and leave this girl withought her knowing the real truth. My guess is that she'd probably been thankfull in the long run for some honesty.

On a side issue of bad breath, I've had the misfortune of throwing up immediately upon kissing a heavy smoker (supposedly who'd quit) due to the stale smell and taste of smoke from her. It's not something I ever want to experience again OMFG

The sheer amount of people we've met who have non smoking in their profile but end up lighting up at a meet is extraordinary.

Go figure

Well you did ask for opinions? Did you really only expect to get ones that completely endorsed yours?

I didn't say there was anything wrong with what you did by the way, you asked us what we would do in similar circumstances...

If it was someone I really liked and the bad breath was the only downside, I'd address the situation as outlined, but it would be addressed

But if it was someone I'd only met socially and wasn't interested in on any level, I'd just let it go and leave it to someone else more invested to deal with. In fact, I've done that a few times when someone's had bad breath or BO. You'd be amazed how poor some folk's personal hygiene is and yet they get meets!

Never been in that situation but thinking about it, I’m not sure what I would do. Embarrassing for both parties.

I did used to be a guys boss and his breath was so bad, you literally couldn’t be on the same room, never mind kiss him. ( not that I was contemplating kissing him lol). His wife obv knew so started fucking all his workmates as she couldn’t stand him anywhere near her. It was rotten teeth that only several visits to a dentist would have had any effect

You said you had a cold sore after kissing her?

That's like sticking your dick in a girl bareback and saying "I have to stop, I have hepatitis"

Yeah I always gargle nuclear strength mouthwash and pop in similar strength mints b4 a meet. Not that I have any problems in that department but the same way I would spend longer in the shower, I would make sure every square millimetre of me was as squeaky clean as possible

Have never been in that situation thankfully but if I was I certainly wouldn't be going back for seconds.

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind but if this girl has bad breath I'm sure someone in her normal day life will have made it known to her.

Personally if you've only met the girl twice I wouldn't think you'd be doing her any favours by pointing it out. That's the job for a good friend or family member.

Personal hygiene is very important.

Especially when you are having sex regularly.
