"2-0 that will do Let's put it this way we would get the shit kicked out of us tonight if this was a better team yeah a win is a win but playing like that ain't gunna get us far " I'm not saying Ireland are amazing, but also, I don't think they would have played this bad against a better team. They should have a better mentality, but it comes from the manager right down, telling the whole country "we will take any win". It's a cancer of a mentality. I'd rather a loss were lessons and improvements were made than a win where nothing is learned at all.

"2-0 that will do Let's put it this way we would get the shit kicked out of us tonight if this was a better team yeah a win is a win but playing like that ain't gunna get us far " Not many teams will put a bank of 5 and 4 in front of their box for the 90 minutes...so better teams will play more open expansive football which means there will be more space in the final third when we do get a ball into that area. Its true that tonight should of been better,we lacked abit of individual quality and creativeness but we have the foundation of a very solid defence so room to improve in an attacking sense but 10 points on the board is good.Ireland always rise for bigger teams so we should expect a better performance in those games.Tonight was end of season stuff, alot of teams go through the motions towards the end of the season.Lets support them and see if we can get through.

"Remember how we qualified for Euro '88? A late goal by Scotland. No one remembers those things when you get to a major final. Of course we can play better, Denmark away we get a draw and deservedly so. We have to be realistic and look forward and give the manager credit for the results after such a short time in charge. " Not going to make no more coments , or I get another forum ban lol . But the issue is stop thinking small , no matter what team you play go on top of them

"2-0 that will do That's the mentality problem , Portugal used to be like that , oh we playing a " small" team a small win will do , when playing others was , lets defend try score 1 and not get any . Thats when things go wrong " Absolute nonsense..Portugal in winning the euro 2016 played Iceland,Hungry and Austria in the group stage and beat none of them...yet went on to win the Euros....Results is what matters...no one remembers the group results if you qualify.

"As a semi pro myself, sometimes you take a win even when opposition is poor. Its points that get you to finals and every one is hard won." The Denmark point was hard won but l'm sorry l can't agree with the points against Gibraltar being hard won ...yes all teams are improving with fitness.. nutrition..but the bottom line here is we scored 3 goals in two games against Gibraltar...points on the board ..yes ..but Ireland scored 3 goals in two games against Gibraltar ??? ..even in your heart you have to say that's pathetic ...and l do realize that it's a case of trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear..and the whole FAI situation is one complete corrupted organisation...l love soccer...the Beautiful game..have done all my life but we're so far off the pace regards competing with those at the top table ..it's unreal...of course l hope Ireland make it ..with the number of the finalists being increased they should do ..but a million miles away from the team that made it in ' 88 when only 8 teams qualified..so yes ..l would agree it's " scores on the doors Isla " that will get them over the line ...and if they do ..then no one will remember only scoring 3 goals in two games against Gibraltar....or will they ???

"Hmmm, I wonder how many remember the great Man U side with Keane and Co and the amount of poor games they won in injury time, or should I say Fergie time, soon forgotten when success Beckoned, pardon the pun. Looking back always adds a silver lining, Big Jacks squad of '88 were undoubtedly a better team but I recall many looking for his head and if Scotland had not done us a favour would we have seen Italia '90 or US '94. Small things can change perspective in soccer very quickly." All true my friend...and l do agree that it's the game of inches..and always something small can turn things around but we need to be putting more than 3 goals in two games past Gibraltar if we're to have any hope of even keeping it kicked out to the bigger teams ...soccer being the game it is if you pack your defence and teams suffergate you it is of course hard to break down...and while the Denmark result was Brilliant..Ireland should have hammered Gibraltar...they were never gonna get an easier game at home to up the ante again ...Denmark hammered Georgia 5-1 at home after the Irish result...we beat Gibraltar 2-0....

Ah but the fergie time became a famous thing and 9 out of 10 times when this happened the other team is normally fucked I highly doubt Ireland would be able to mirror that yeah we normally do bring our A game when bigger teams come round but playing not so good against weak opposition can lead to embarrassment like all it takes is a good set piece for them and the ball is in the back of the net Gibraltar was playing bad but the shots they did have on target could have easily went in like possession and amount of corners and free kicks mean absolutely nothing unless you do something with it what I say is don't go in at walking pace against these teams make a statement even Gibraltar fans were expecting a hammering lol

Yet we have the joint top goal difference with Denmark and if we put in a good performance at home to the Swiss then we'll be on our way.
