I'm friends with a few of my exes.

Arms length distance friends tho. See absolutely no reason to fall out with anyone who at any point have been important in my life, but also wouldn't want them to be part of my every day life, more acquaintances.

Obviously anything sex related completely off the table.

If it's just mates and you are not in any way emotionally attached to her, then yeah.

If theres a smidgen of lust though, don't.

Me and my ex have become really good friends is it just because I dunno but can about anything in confidence to each other

I wouldn't, especially if I were the one who finished the relationship, just letting them cling isn't in anyone's interest.

You can remain "friendly" as in civil, but confiding in each other or hanging out, just confusing and unfair to any new partner either of you may find.

Depends on the reason for the split and how you feel. I’m friendly with all but one of mine. Sometimes you just weren’t meant to be with someone for whatever reason but whatever spark or connection you initially had should have included being friends. Trust your instincts

If the split was amicable and you both like eachother as friends go for it!

I've kept friendly with a few of my exes as has Jay but in saying that there's one or two we wouldn't piss on if they were on fire they were that bad....

Yah, your right I'd considering it..

Not sure is she just using me to extract information, when she needs advice or is it the fact she truely wants to be mates.

Tbh, I thnk its the information part.

No, I'm friendly with one of my exes purely cause we have a child together and we get on quite well. Only for that reason we are friendly. Other exes I'd be civil with if I had too but not on anyway friendly terms

My ex is one of my best friends and that won't change until I'm gone. I don't see a reason why two people who had once a relationship cannot stay friends.

Don't see whats wrong with it the fact 2 people don't work as a couple in a relation doesn't mean they can't stay friends

If you can't justify being friends with her OP that suggests to me there are maybe still some sour feelings on your part and you're not ready to be friends.

Sorry for steering this post in a slightly different direction but....what if you told your ex a few home truths (as you seen it) and in a 'not so nice way' and which he agreed with and took the blame. How do I apologise and stay friends or it it too late?

Personally, I have done this to my ex is was pissing me of that much that I just given her some home truths too (as I seen it). She wasn't excatly impressed either.

Personally, I think its to late.

Similar position tbh...if l really told my ex what l'd really like to tell her ,things would get unhealthy ..and tbh..it's easier to let sleeping dogs lie...just try to be the better person and avoid conflict.. especially when kids in the picture..
