"Weights and swimming if possible. With swimming your using your whole body to exercise plus it’s good cardio. If you’ve not easy access to a pool then weight training finished by 3 mile run will do the job " Yeah would love to be swimming more, pools with gyms are a rare feature in Dundalk. Hardly want to be jumping into the Irish Sea after a work out either

"I'm a bit over weight from being inactive too, decided I would walk to lose the weight as I don't want to lose any muscle. So when I get home, I put on my jacket and head out the door and walk 6-7 miles. I walk at a comfortable pace, I dont shake my hips or try walk as fast as i can, I just walk normal to brisk but dont stop for 7 miles. In a month I have lost over 1% of fat and no muscle really. Its about exactly how much I want to lose a month but may not be quick enough for other people." Pretty impressive man, congrats!

"Feck what other people think it’s your body you do it whatever way you want" I agree, but if someone is 20% and wants to hit 15 in a month or two then it wont be quick enough for them. For me its perfect, and I was actually surprised how well a 2 hour walk a day adds up. Think it was 250 miles in a month.

"How much swimming do you guys do? I've started back and doing 14 lengths so far. Not sure what number to aim for, so I'm just going to build it up." 14 lengths isn't great tbh, what stroke are you doing? You need to be doing in the region of 1k front crawl in say 30mins to start for decent cardio return. A saunter up and down the pool doing the brest stroke is really just a super size bath
