The debacle that is the kicking the can down the road of the institutional abuse inquiry is a national scandal . Linking agreed payment to victims to the talks process is beyond sick.

Theresa May, Karen Bradley, Arlene Foster, Michelle O’Neill and Mary Lou McDonald, the key political personalities have it in their hands to do something positive, but refuse to. So much for compassion . David Sterling, the head of the NI civil service, and Mike Nesbit seem to be the only people talking sense. Do I need to say why nothing’s happening ?.... pretty obvious to me.

We have the local and European elections coming up it’s not in any of their interests to deal with anything.

The inquiry ran for several years and gave its report and recommendations over 2 years ago. All political parties agreed 110% with its conclusions and Recommendations. Elections have zero to do with it. What is in effect happening is that if Stormont never returns , the recommendations will never be implemented. It is scandalous particularly as 30 victims have died in the last few years. One person is stopping the recommendations being implemented ( things such as a comprehensive mental help package and compensation ). That person should resign immediately

They haven’t resolved much here either though and that’s without Stormont. Brexit has been the excuse for everything being at a standstill now its elections.
