Was just thinking last week, a friends mishap and what could of been in life. Do u ever stop and think "why am I not trying to do this or trying to get that". What I mean is, we only live once and if you want something, go and try get it. What are we afraid of or nervous about. Motto of the post. Dont hold back and try second guess the situation,go and try get it.

I think as I grow older my past failures and mistakes make me more cautious. It seems to take me a little longer to bounce back mentally these days from disappointment. Particularly if something involves a large financial risk. Risking trying a new dish off a menu... Not so much

Met a guy on a plane once taking a new dish to Spain. He said he didnt trust the Spanish ones. Hope he got a good reception!

I'll give you an eg. As a man, if you really liked a girl, would you approach her and tell her or leave it in the what if scenario. Imo you should never leave something like that in the what if state.

People often do things like that though don't they? Bring their home comforts with them in case they don't like what they find there... The Lyons/Barrys teabags... The packs of Tayto... Even when trying new destinations people will minimise the risk in some small way

I dunno about everyone else on here, but I am constantly working on ideas, a lot of them going slowly but I work on them all.

Most of them wont work, because this is Ireland not new york. But I'm not gonna let that stop me from trying, even if it means I end up living in poverty.

The way I see it. If you really like someone, and not just in the 'phwoarrrr you look hot' way, but have actual feelings for them, you should tell them. Not in the hope that they will be reciprocated (because they may not), but because everyone should hear that someone loves or cares about them. That's pretty special.

Depends on how you take rejection and what you mean by "like".

If "Like" means, "I want to have sex with you", then I think its best to keep it to yourself or you will sexualize every relationship with every woman you end up liking a bit.

if "Like" means "We got to know each other and we could maybe have a good shot at being in a relationship" then say it as the signs should be obvious they are feeling simillar.

If "like" means "I think youre a great person and dont care if we ever have sex", then sure tell them.

If you cant take rejection then keep everything to yourself. Nothing worse than guys who spend a while chatting to a girl and when she says no to a relationship they stop talking to her totally, or they insult someone she is thinking of dating or a current bf, stop all that kind of carry on.

I think you should always tell incase the feelings are reciprocated and something could take off from it.

Brilliant for male and female.

But I won't do it because coming from a crossdresser, some might get offended.

Do you really think someone might be offended? Maybe that's something for another thread.... But would anyone actually be offended by someone saying they had feelings for them, regardless of gender or sexuality? Is it not the ultimate compliment that someone thinks that highly of you? There's no obligation on anyone to reciprocate... So why be offended? Genuinely intrigued by this idea.

Isn't that what sparked bra burning and the likes, women in places of work with every single man slapping their arse telling them they look good today.

Basically saying "You only live once" isnt an excuse to tell someone you see them as a sexual object. They only live once too and they dont need every person they know putting them in akward positions their whole life.

This is stuff people should learn when children, there are appropriate ways to get to know someone romantically and sexually and inapropriate ways.

Lets just put it this way, would you rather live a happy life with a "what if fantasy" in your head of someone in work, or make a move on them and end up getting sacked for sexual harassment?

If you like someone, ask them to go for a meal sometime, if they go asked them if they enjoyed the time and maybe can go again. If it goes well after a while you can tell them you like them.

Agree and well said

I wouldn't be offended. Why?

OP, I think be honest with yourself and tell the person what you feel.

I think you're confusing my post with another one. I'm not talking about arse slapping or telling someone you work with that you think they're hot, or even necessarily talking about romantic feelings for someone. It's a sad day when you can't tell someone that you admire them and value their presence in your life.

I think it's in our heart to do certain things

but as John Lennon once said

"Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans"

The two biggest obstacles to getting what you want in life is DISTRACTION (think of that cat chasing new shiny things) and also FEAR where you second guess yourself and your belief within yourself...

Overthinking can also hinder progress so I guess the secret to life is be like Forrest Gump as he just takes action and is "too stupid" to even know what failure is

Be like Forrest

A few months ago I took sick nothing bad just something that knocked me of my feet for a bit. My doctor said my job was going to kill me one day. It was just crap and boss was doing my head in etc. So one day I just never went in. I was driving over 210 miles over 3 days a week just to get to and home from work. Doctor now says my blood pressure and sugars are good. I have lost a good load of savings. But I hopefully to be starting a new job soon. I have a offer just waiting the so called police safety check. It been 10 days. But hopefully soon I will start the job and rebuild my savings. But for now am not killing myself for no thanks a crap pay. Plus new job only around 20 miles a week driving

It's nothing special same sort of money as the last job. But it's the driving that's good I be saving around £25 a week plus have more time in morning and less getting home. Plus it's in the warmth and less stress. And lighter work
