Would you cover for a friend if you knew he/she was playing without their partners consent or were cheating? I think if I knew I’d tell them to leave me out of it, I wouldn’t be willing to cover but I wouldn’t tell their partner either.

If they put me on the spot by lying to their partner in front of me by using me as their alibi and I didn’t know what they were at I’d probably give them the benefit of the doubt and wing it but have it out with them afterwards and tell them I’d want no hand act or part in it.

What would you do?

I did for a very good friend but I also done it cos her husband was a wanker and she deserved better she is now getting married to the guy I helped her cover for

That’s a good point. I hadn’t thought about that scenario. Hypotheticals aren’t great I guess because there are so many shades!

I would try not to be involved of to make any judgement.

if asked for an opinion I would probably outline pros & cons of the action, but each case on it's own unique circumstances.

No,I don't wish to be involved in other people's deceit of their partners, only situation I would get into is if a relationship were abusive and a friend needed support or help to leave.

Did cover for a friend till one day ( he forgot to tell me we were going away for a weekend ) i bumped into her in the shopping centre , said nothing and when he got back from "our lads away weekend " caught him in the lie .

If you are using a friend as alibi at least let them know

I think a real friend wouldn't put you in the situation in the first place

No. I wouldn't cover. They know my opinion about cheating. If I'll ever find someone of my friends or family is cheating on their partners, there is no mercy for them, ultimatum:they have to say it or I will do this.

I wish my best friend told me the truth once she knew it. She didn't...
